Sorry, have been busy doing non-interactive fiction stuff, so haven't checked the forum for a while.

It looks like a crimson fish to me, the only actions I can see that you can perform in that room is to GET the WATER.

I think I may have to have a go at the game myself to try and get some context around what the problems are, probably at the weekend.

dave, if you're finding yourself too busy for this stuff atm, I can do it too. However, if you're really planning to do it, I won't get in your way by poking my nose into your business... 8)

Right; I've played through the adventure now and I'm pretty sure it was never finished and you can't win. I'm basically at the stone in the palace with nothing to do there.

Looking through the code for the adventure, I thought there may be a bug in my dictionary reader where I'm not decoding some actions, but the rooms and messages match up.

It looks like another 12 lost souls :-(

Andreas, have you got a copy of stuff to decode GAC, I can point towards my reader if you want - it's a work in progress so there's probably a few bugs so the more uses it gets, the better things'll decode on it!

Well, I normally "decode" by hand, using a nifty search->replace technique ^^

Never needed software to do that except for my ultraedit :D

Sounds like too much effort! I just enjoy the breaking of the format and coding the reader more than the game.
