royal quest

#1 Post by Doreen B »

Another amstrad game.

Have found nothing to give the troll.

Can't do anything in the alcove.

I can enter the cave system by waking the dwarf, giving him the apples and he opens the rock.
But you can get into those caves by ' go wall' when it has been risen by the anvil in the cottage cellar - strange to have 2 ways to get into the caves.

Have done nothing at the dry well.

Have finished Fugitive - what a game guess the verb!! Thanks Dave.

I tried playing this one a while back, but if I remember correctly I wasn't able to get a light to explore those caves. How did you solve this?

Crumbs, Doreen. Can you kinda slow down a bit? I can't keep up. Glad there is Dave on board who can crack the code and play along with you. I am swamped with work and will join you when I can. I have upgraded to faster Internet, but as expected, there are problems. I'll chat again eventually.

The lamp and the oil are found in the cottage after you 'row boat' on the lake.

examine the stove

Yes, I already did find those, but how do I light the lamp? It kept telling me I had nothing to light it with.

I can't find the troll (in the caves)?

I suspect that you use one of these as an entrance and one as an exit.

There's far too many mazes for my tastes (Forest, Lake and Desert) though each are small, it gets annoying!

There's flint and steel to be found by DIGging in the royal courtyard

Yes the troll is in the cave system, from the dwarf location (after he's opened the rock) go east 2 times to a grotto where there is a brass door and a rope.

At the moment I have only found 8 locations here.
You die at the bottom of the pit, corridors, the grotto and the alcove, which is accessed by climbing the ladder.

Until I find some 'gold' (possibly) for the troll I can not go further.

What a way to spend your birthday - looking for a brass key!!!

I have now found the gold for the troll and now need the brass key for the door.

Up in the alcove there is an exit to the north which I missed!

Still havn't fathomed out the reason why the anvil is put on the block in the cellar, the wall still closes when you move away.

I think it's because you're not heavy enough by yourself to lift the wall, so the anvil provides the extra weight.

OK I have now found the brass key and opened the brass door - only to find myself at the bottom of a pit and injured and no where to go...

Have got the Crown but don't know what to do next.

I'm slowly catching up.

Is there anything to find in the desert?

I've tied the rope to the pit, but how to get down?

Is it necessary to return to the dwarf and give him the apples? The reason I ask that is that there are a limited number of moves after you do that and the curse causes you to die?

I see there is an east bank of the lake, where I haven't been. Is it necessary to go there?

Is this the rope that the troll doesn't allow you to take? If so, where did you find the bag of coins for the troll?

It does not seem to be necessary to wake up the dwarf and give him the apples. I entered the caves through the other entrance. But how do you get out? The wizard gave me a parchment with instructions to go to a place without the "smell of evil and the corruption of water" (it seems to be the entrance that the dwarf opens) and then "say aloud that which you feel".

So far it appears to be a dead end. You keep getting killed if you disembark there.

The coins are found west and south of the pit.

To be able go go down the rope you must first DROP ROPE
and then GO ROPE

do you think that the well is the place with no corruption of water?

Where did you find the wizard?

I found that you do indeed die on the east bank.
