Re: time
You had to go through a number of steps when you got the uniform (I liked this puzzle!)Doreen B wrote:TWhen I try to enter the chateau I get killed if I am a civilian and also get killed wearing a german riders uniform... any help here?
Did you remember to clean up after yourself; it will normally explain why you've been caught, so you know what to do.
My only real problem so far is the number of "invisible" rooms (e.g. I spent ages before I worked out you could ENTER BARN and ENTER FARMHOUSE).

Where do you take the german rider to hide him?
As I said earlier the emulator is so fast for the game that when I get killed the screen goes so quickly that I havn't time to read it...
I have been in the dining room and sen the Doctor and the general, what do you do here?

I hid him in the forest (to the west of the road) and didn't have a problem with the guards after that...Doreen B wrote:Where do you take the german rider to hide him?
Which emulator are you running? They may be a way of slowing it down (the standard WAIT command in GAC -- which this is -- waits for a number of clock ticks, or a key press).Doreen B wrote:As I said earlier the emulator is so fast for the game that when I get killed the screen goes so quickly that I havn't time to read it...
You need to be trusted to go in there (and not be thrown out). Then you need to give them what they want, but set it up first. Hint: look at the item you started with, if that doesn't help, examine sub parts of the item.Doreen B wrote:I have been in the dining room and sen the Doctor and the general, what do you do here?
The intro for the game is:
You're nearly there with the cane, look closer at it.Doctor HINSON an evil scientist has travelled back in time to German occupied FRANCE. He intends to give the Germans a formula for NERVE GAS to help them win the war. In return he will be given riches captured by the Germans.
Fortunately, British Intelligence has been able to build a Time Machine. You will take the role of CRISPIN CRUNCHY an MI7 agent and pursue Dr HINSON into the past.
Unfortunately, due to engineering problems, the machine can only remain in the past for 7 hours.
You have until 12 MIDNIGHT to travel back in time, find the formula and destroy it before HINSON hands it over to the Germans, and then return to complete the mission.

I tried every possible way to turn/pull/push/break the handle
Anyway unscrew came to me!
So now it's back to the time machine....
But I'm too tired to climb back up the mountain path
I presume I need the donkey to ride...but it kicks and bucks
Do I need something to feed it like a carrot - is there something in the patch of nettles which the rabbit dropped at the beginning.
If so how do I get to examine the nettles?

You're pretty much almost there, you even have the right idea of what to do. If you SEARCH the nettles then your hand gets stung.
How can we protect our hands?
Who have we seen who has a similar protection on them? (think of the cane).
I don't know why, but when I tried to get the handle off, unscrew was the first verb that came to mind... Too many similar puzzles I assume!
