Your Astral game was the same as mine. Pity.

Anyway, am playing the fish game. I too have done in 4 fish, though I don't know whether they're the same 4 as you.

Questions:

1. the beehive. Once you are in the house, you can't seem to get back out. Is that part for later?

2. I fed the cat. What do you do then? Should he follow you?

3. I got up on the landing. At the fire, I can tie up sheets, but then what? Should I have fed the dogs with what I gave the cat?

4. When I type help, I get the hint about ET. While PHONE HOME didn't work, the response says that you know how to phone directory inquiries. Since I keep getting the same hint over and over regardless where I am, if this is a British-written game, should I type something specific here? In Canada we dial 411. Needless to say that doesn't work.

5. How does one get up the attic?

6. What to do at the manager's office?

I think that's all for now. Will try again tomorrow.

Directory inquiries used to be 192, now British Telecom's offering is 118 500 and there are a whole load of other commercial directory inquiries available (though I don't know why anyone would use them as you can look up numbers for free on the internet). The Operator is still 100, and the International Operator is 155.

Thanks, Alastair - nice to know all this. Yes numbers can be obtained on the Internet, though I haven't used this, let alone tried this for international numbers. Though I have used it for postal codes (though it's much easier to look through the postal code book at work).

I'm a stingy old soul (remember I am on cheap DSL) not to mention print-oriented.

Now that my knowledge has expanded somewhat, can you answer my other questions? :)

I fed the cat with the fish which I cooked.

You can get out the hotel via the upstais window using the sheets but you need to throw the ball down to the dogs below.

I too have ot managed the attic opening, the locked door, or the office door. When you have put out the fire there is an opening to the west but its too dark - no light?

You need the flowers for the bee hive.

How did you put out the fire? I tried filling the pots with water at the sink, but can't do that.

What did you do at the beehive?

Have you determined what the dustbin lid is for and what the cat is for?

You need the vase from the upstairs corridor table.
I emptied the vase at the kitchen sink - then filled it.

I just carried the flowers at the bee hive and went up.
Not done anything with the lid.

Dial 123 to get a 3 figure number mine is 316 but it could be random. This could be used with some keys which are needed, possibly the locked door in the N/S corridor.

We need to get into the managers office.
We need to clean/wash the mouse which I think is needed to give to the cat who will then follow you
We need to clean/wash ourselves with soap to enter the sleek door upstairs corridor.
Still cannot get up into the attic...

I'm sure I tried that with the vase, though I may not have used "EMPTY". What's a vase of flowers doing with no water?

I haven't run across any mouse yet.

And how did you put out the fire?

Something about these illogical games...

Well, I've caught up with you, but am no further ahead.

All I can think of is to use the dustbin lid as a shield and the poker as a sword. But there is no one to fight with as yet.

Yes, there are several doors that seem to need keys.

I tried at the manager's door to use the poker (the sign says don't poke your nose in there), but either I haven't the correct verb, or that's not the answer.

Can't imagine what else the poker is good for.

The objects which I have not used yet include the poker and the screwdriver. Haven't seen anything that can be unscrewed.

I tried carrying the toolbox to the attic but that didn't help either.

Any idea what the ring is for?

When I did it I got 331; so it is probably random!

Ah; it's not too complicated; use the same verb you used for the window, this'll allow you to get into the manager's office. And you'll see where to wash yourself if you follow on from this.

I think I've finished it now (but I only had a score of 83% - so there may be more).

The mouse can be cleaned with something in the toilet, which you need something from the manager's office to go into.

I never went into the attic, nor did I enter the fireplace, nor did I go into the room at the west of the south end of the corridor...

I've managed to get it up to 99% by getting into the west room, the attic and the fireplace.

I've found a use for the ring, the batteries and the mouse.

Can you give a hint about where to use the ring?

And the attic, unless it's logical from after you use the ring?

The batteries, I presume are for a torch to go into the fireplace.

The mouse and the cat would be for the very end when the cat gets the King Fish.

So far I have 5 fish.

Are the flashing lights good for anything?
