BTW - did you examine the manhole cover? It gives a hint of some kind.
I will do what you suggest, but does that get you across the chasm? The wand doesn't seem to help anywhere. Probably a red herring clue, considering where all these games started.

I've started this today so I am a bit behind you, my problem is that ZED keeps running out of power in the multi-storey maze before I've had a chance to collect everything, how do you overcome this?
Also, did you examine the towel after drying yourself? There is a pattern on it, a bit like this -

I'm not sure what razors did but I
changed my clothes

followed razor's map (ask him to send it to you). While it has four floors you need to connect the floors from various rooms (the ones that say u/d)
I honestly cannot remember the order I did this. I think I picked up the jack first, then the queen, then spanner, then dropped the spanner at the windy ledge (making sure the controller was in another room)
then the wand. Then went back to walkway/ditch area
changed back to the controller and went from there.
Then you are in the chasm/large tree area.
Razors, I followed your directions and, as they were different from the order I did them, they helped. However, exploring the dismal cavern seems to be a useless enterprise - why visit that area?
Now ZED is swinging. Now what? I tried to give him the jack of spades and the wand, but this doesn't help. He also can't drop the cable and I can't seem to find a verb that works.
Meanwhile the controller is stuck in the cavern.

If you patiently examine the .dsk with Wordpad, you get some hints about something happening (an explosion?) which you do something to the joker.

OK guys, I've made a discovery but haven't had the chance to use it yet. In the gloomy room before the manhole, just after the sauna there is a big magnet hidden on the floor. I assume we need this to cross the chasm but I haven't done it yet.

To get through the maze the sequence is as follows:
Start with person at Eastern end of steel walkway

I assume that if you give ZED the magnet to hold before he does the swing then he will stick to the monolith and you will be able to cross the chasm. Will post again when it is done.

I worked out the problem with ZED, there is a limited number of times that he can go up, by changing my path I managed to get him through the maze.

I freed ZED not long after I posted and am also stuck outside the mansion. Have you managed to get either the hacksaw or the spanner to the mansion? I know this is dumb, but how can you get the magnet? Since it is to oheavy to lift, how can ZED get the magnet? Since he cannot get past the turnstile, and north of the cavity (in the passage), there is no way to return to the boiler room where the magnet is? At least as the controller.

My apologies. You cannot go down to get the king until you tie the rope to zed and then throw it. I though I did this before.
However, going east from the cavern where you found the cable, and exploring those areas - anything there?
Anyway, I did as you fellows suggested. The magnet clung to the monolith, but I am stuck. Now how to free zed? Or get yourself to move?

thanks for the tip about the cat. Have you managed to escape the cellar? I have and now find myself stuck in the mansion with the instruction sheet, key, magic wand, Jack of Spades, cassette, the ZIP, and of course ZED with his sticky label. Have I missed anything? And is it possible to do anything with the carpet with any of the characters?

Looking at the 6 picture clues -
I see waves or mountains;
Fe is a symbol for a metal'
Two pictures seem like music notations - the note G, and a natural;
And the last one seems to be the Greek letter "mu".
But none of this gets me anywhere.
Is there anything other than the cards you can put in the hole?

To escape the cellar you type "in" to enter the cabinet, then "scratch joker"
However, once that is done you are behind a computer screen and you need to type one word to continue, but I don't know what.
Alastair, I assume that because you are back at the mansion you know what the word is. Can you tell me (in white)?
