OK - time for some collaboration. Participants welcome!!!

Murder Mystery is a Spectrum game (yes, I know, I play lots of Spectrum games - if someone can tell me how to separate the text adventures from the arcade adventures on the BBC, I will certainly try them).

I am at the slab. I have visited Dowse. I climbed up the drainpipe (though this may be redundant once you have talked to Dowse though you do get a picture of a hill). I have a note (though I am confused about who is the first and who is the second wife) Kinda thought that second wives were usually younger than the first.

I have no idea whether you need the drainpipe later. I have the jewels.

So, now what?

I've tried this one before. Not sure if it's just my copy but it has some quirks, ie, I've climbed the drainpipe and am examining the muddy footstep --- the description says "the mud has dried but it looks quite fresh. It contains a photo of a hill" - I'm pretty sure the muudy footprint does not contain a pix.... As such I haven't played much, I dont even have the jewels. I've been up the pipe, I've visited crescent lane but cant seem to get to rakeham hill...

I have a letter, a photo, a piece of paper, and the wallet.

Hey, haven't heard from you for ages. Glad you are still around.

Examine the wallet CLOSELY.

To get to Rakeham Hill, first go back to the Manor House.

In these terms I put up a list at the if-wiki:
http://ifwiki.org/index.php/Electron

These are the Electron (the BBC Micro's baby brother) games, but most of them are compatible with the BBC Micro (I owned an Electron when I was a lad). I run most of them on BeebEm in BBC Master (the BBC Micro's big brother) and most work with a bit of nudging.

I can give some help on getting them working.

Sites to get disk images are:
http://www.acornelectron.co.uk/
http://www.stairwaytohell.com/

One final word of advice: avoid Brassington's Xadomy like the plague unless you want to be really bored for the whole half hour it takes to play (I've just completed this) :-)

Thanks Dave,

I will be sure to try them when my "unfinished" stack shrinks a bit. I have visited Stairway to Hell, but not the other.

Hi All,

Happy New Year...

I have found the jewels now have a score of 50% so I presume the other 50% is reached when you find the husband.

I can't get down the well - if indeed you need to.
And the opening in the ceiling to the attic - can't get into.

Also I can't seem to 'go' anywhere else after getting the jewels, eg either back to the Manor or Red Lodge or Crescent Lane.

Wonder what the policeman is there for?

You can take the slab, but what good is it? Just like you can take the drainpipe, but don't know if this is necessary.

Glad you are on board, ladies, but...?

Hmm ... this is not the same as Murder Mystery Weekend I guess?

Because if it's solved, I'm not going to delve into this...

No, it's not the same game.
