Doreen, thanks for the concern. I appreciate that.

Alastair, that's also a good way to obscure spoilers. Highlighting to read the text is easy enough I think.

Terri, it's good to know I have challenges ahead of me. :) Thanks for the help so far, I have been able to continue. I would like to try out some of your games; can you recommend one to start with?

My take on the matter is that hints are supposed to be exactly that - hints, not straight solutions. Perhaps it's just me, but if I've struggled with a puzzle for a long time, just getting a direct solution feels, well, a little flat. On the other hand, if a nugde will guide me in the right direction, solving it on my own in the end feels ever so much more satisfying.

Then again, I'm probably just being masochistic ;)

Finally, Darius, welcome to the board. I'll see if there's some kind of clever MOD that will make the posting of hints easier.

Gunness, I agree with you wholeheartedly (except being masochistic, I think :) )
Thanks for the welcome. I hope I can bring something to the forum as well.

Here's a slight modification of the idea, giving an indication of where the hidden text is located.

> BORING HIDDEN TEXT

Is this any better?

Better, now that I know where to highlight it.

I had written another long-winded reply, but I lost it. Maybe it's better that way.

Now that the issue appears to be resolved, can we get back to helping each other out? Or playing along together?

Darius, you may want to try Peneless. Alastair, Doreen and I played it and I wrote the hints. Beware though, there are very specific hints there, including verbs, unecessary objects listed, etc. Nudges these are not. I would be curious whether, even with as direct hints as these are, whether you still will find the game challenging.

I'll be sure try out Peneless as soon as I solve Boyd File. Which genre is it by the way?

Talking about Boyd File, I would appreciate a vague hint about what to do inside the movie studios. I know how to get inside, but I'm not sure about what to do there (more than finding a couple of takeable objects in one of the rooms).

Terri, if you are going to recommend Peneless, at least point Darius to the version of Peneless that works!

Darius, the version of Peneless can be solved may be found on the "Peneless + Toot 'n' Come in" compilation tape available here:

(Jacob, it looks like the url tags no longer work - I thought it was only new posters who were not allowed to use them.)

The objective is to rescue your beloved Penelope, it is set mostly in a wilderness, in the modern period (?), but with no high tech and some mysticism thrown in.

That's odd. According to the settings, you should be allowed to use url's after five posts. I'll have to check further.

Alastair, thanks for the info and the link. How did you know that I prefer adventures that actually work? :D

At the move studio:

Use the two objects you found in the other room.

You can leave the way you came or go in a different direction for a little, completely irrelevant fun.

Thanks for the help. Am I correct to assume that I should only take the two objects and can then leave the movie studio? The rest is just "for fun", even the studio boss's office?

No, you cannot assume that. There is another location you must visit before leaving. Both of the objects you found (first go east) are necesary in the move studio.

I'm stumped. I cannot get any further. Another subtle hint would be most welcome.

The action you want is not "subtle". Quite the opposite.

In the boss' studio, you see something. Can you open it? Do you have a tool you can use to get into it?

Remember - you need both of the items you got in the other location.
