Haws anyone played this game? It has nice descriptions.

I am not able to get out from under the cottage with the trapdoor.

What to do in the burning inn - I can't get the jug of water. One can avoid all this, but is it wise not to help?

There are other places too - the gargoyle - how to get past him.

The talisman helps get past the wolves, but then you seem to need a light source.

At the smithy's? At the willow?

Have you tried to hit the blacksmith?

The trapdoor in the cottage is near the end of the adventure - you need to drink from a vial.

I think the talisman is needed at the gargoyle.
There is a store room in the inn, to get out use the window.

Do what the woman in the inn tells you.

Try these hints.

The talisman is needed to get past the wolves south of the bridge. It doesn't help at the gargoyle

OK. I hit the blacksmith, got the ruby, gave it to the innkeeper's daughter, got back to the hollow, got the rock from the cave, but I can't squeeze down, regardless what I am carrying. I think I may have (in various attempts before), got down there, but I can't remember how.

Also can't get past the gargoyle, can't get to the gully, don't know what the horseshoe is good for, don't know whether to get the chest at the beginning or wait til later, can't jump out the window more than once (can't get through the door once it's locked).

Lots of places to get stuck in, not to mention closed exits.

Wow - what a lot of problems!

Have you thrown the ruby into the pool of magma, beyond the maze of pillars.

This is where your light source is.

Looking at my solution I do have a lot of 'drop all'

There is a copper coin on a ledge just after you have seen the woman at the gully.

I did't use the horseshoe.
the rock is only moved - once moved - drop it.
You need the bone.
If the inn is on fire - you need the bucket of water to douse the flames.
this is found in cottage cellar south of wolves.
The key unlocks the chest to find the vial - drink this at the other cottage at the trapdoor.

See how you get on with these hints...

I haven't found the pillars and the pool of magma. Is this past the gargoyle?

Yes, I have the copper coin. Where is this used?

I thought I had tried the rock/bone combination, but I'll try again.

There must be another way out, after you squeeze through the opening, as you can't get back to get to the cottage.

I'll write again, I am sure.

Doreen, I am no further ahead.

I think I need to make a potion, though I am not sure how or where or where to use it.

What to do at the cottage with the pot? I have the copper penny.

I can't move the rock, or lift it - I can only take it and drop it, though I still cannot squeeze through.

I don't know if I am missing any objects at either location to make the potion. The club has blood and goat's hair on it? Assuming this is bat's blood?

Typing help at the gargoyle (after the ruby has been "activated" by the woman, gives the hint that a token of evil will allow you to pass. Since neither the knife or the bludgeon is that token, there must be something else.

You may need to be more explicit with me.

The cost of a night at the inn is one copper coin and one gold coin.

After the woman sees the ruby - from the gargoyle loc. - go E - D - E - E - D - D - S - S - D - D to the pool of magma.

did you read the book 2 times it mentions somthing about 'focus, bone'

Have you climbed gate in the courtyard, to get the skull.

Thanks Doreen.

I got the skull, found the lantern, got the bone, got the bucket, and got the chest.

You only need to read the book once, to get the comment about the bone.

I cannot find the key to open the chest? Did I miss something along the way? Can you tell me where it is?

Seems we are back on line with the forum...cheers Jacob

According to my map the key is to be found north from the cellar in the cottage where the bucket of water is.

Thanks for the help Doreen.

I am finished with 615/667 points, so it does not appear as if I am finished. Is this the end? Does one enter the castle and if so how?

The gave adverts talk about a locket? Do you find it?

How is Bhakor coming along?

I am trying to write up the solution for Lightmare(from both of us). Have you been able to play/find Part 2? I think that some of the objects may be needed for that.

So, before I ignore all the unnecessary objects for Part 1, rather than drop them in a cetral location for easier retrieval, can you tell me if you have found Part 2, or how to reset/load etc.?

As far as I am aware there is NO part 2

I have all Zenobi's games and there is no 2

As to the locket - I only finished the game with 93% so perhaps I have missed it...

How exactly are you supposed to get out of the cave in this game? The lantern seems to have limited fuel (unless there's a way to extinguish it and light it again), so there's not much moves to waste down in that cellar. There's barely enough moves for picking up the bucket of water and transferring it upstairs, where there's light, go back and pick up and drop the crate. I managed to get out through the hole in the cave just as the lantern died out, but I could not get out of the cave because the entrance is now filled with earth. Going back through the cellar seems impossible, even if the lantern was still lit, because "you can't squeeze through".

Thanks.

By the way, I took a look at the game code and I could not find any "locket" in the list of objects. I suspect that was going to be in the second part of the game, which apparently was never made or released.
