Is this normal? I know that the database is broken, game updates are on hold and email notifications don't work. Is this related? I have someone complaining that:

I got a little more info. He says that when he tries to log on, he gets a message saying "This account has not been activated", so it sounds like it needs an administrator to activate it. Remember that email notifications are not working, so he would not have received any email notifications.
I tried contacting the admins myself, selected the check box to send me a copy of the email and I got...nothing...nada...zip...zilch.

Garry, I haven't seen any notifications. Please PM me the username of the new user and I'll see what I can do.

This issue hasnt been fixed yet. I have another user with a gmail address that has tried to register, but hasn't heard anything. I'll send a PM with details, but surely this needs to be fixed. How many potential users haven't been registered?

Garry, I've activated the user.
We are working on the problem. It seems to be down to configuring the mailserver to Gmail's liking, so it's a question of finding out what Gmail wants.

It seems there's another problem with the backend; my account works fine on the forums but the main site gives me an authentication error.

This is a puzzle to me, I've checked various settings and cannot see anything that would cause a problem. Yes, that's the message. rkowalski, out of interest did you ever try logging in to the main site before I activated your account?
