Coin is in the storeroom west of the entrance hall (where the knife was). As for the key, once the cook gives it to you just go NE through the now apparently unlocked and open door.

Hi All,
Try this solution:
From the start location - courtyard , nw, w, get coin, get knife, e, lasso statue, w, give jar to cook (receive key) unlock door, ne, get bottle, sw, e, e, e, give coin to guard, give bottle to guard, e, pick lock, n, (portcullis) open sesame, n (man) seduce guard, n, choose prime numbers, cast thunderball spell, (Fire demon) say 1547, multiply 7x17x13..........should be end...........
I notice on my map there is a rod and scroll and crown, but how these are used I don't know, or can't remember!!
The 'clues' referred to are some which came with the game.
Hope this helps you all in some way.
Doreen
thank you ladies

Thanks for the help.
Part 2 seems a bit of a letdown. Was SEDUCE GUARD among the clues given in the game?
When you reach the last room with the three math items, and it brings you to an endless feedback loop, I suppose that is mathematical in a way, but somehow disappointing. Maybe that was the purpose of the game?
Anyway... Doreen - will you be writing a solution, or shall I? What an intriguing mixture of simple math puzzles, and exotic verbs.

Hi,
As it was a very long time since I completed this game I will let you have the honours of writing a solution.
The clues that came with the game were in the form of criptic clues and some coded phrases.
The clue for the seduction - Female - This guard will do you no harm, what's needed is some feminine charm.
What's next on your advents?
Happy New Year

Terri, if you write the solution I'll submit the map. How's that sound?
OK

You're on Amby. You the map, me the verbal. However, I still say that this is an unsatisfying conclusion. To the game, not to our collaboration and Doreen's help.
Gee Doreen, what else is in your basement?

Hi Terri and Amby and all.........
What can I say but I have solved over 1000, games mostly spectrum but recently with emulations Amstrad and C64 stuff.
I will try to help in any way possible, as games are not too frequent now.
I believe I should put something back into the adventure world, - helping others to play them and solve them.
I also have in my stack of 'unsolved' many other speccy and amstrad and c64 - from Assignment east berlin - to xtroth the adventure.
Fire away with any questions and I will try to help.
Doreen
ps don't know what happened to that last post sent late last night!!
But I suggested another game - Grabbed by the ghoulies and Goldwood both speccy games and available from WOS.

Terri - It still feels like there was more to Mathematica - an ending the could be reached by returning to part 1 somehow, involving the staff and the 3 items collected at the end of part 2. Wasn't there a wizard who said something about fighting on his terms...?
Doreen - wow, 1000 games? That is impressive! I don't supposed that Ziggarat of Dread is among them by any chance?
not on my list!

Hi,
Well would you believe it - Ziggarat of Dread is not one I have solved...!
I have one called Ziggurat by Super Savers for the speccy.
This involves collecting lots of coins on 2 levels, and from the questions being asked this can't be the one.
Doreen
I too am impressed

Wow is right. I guess you have been playing for years. Sure, next game can be one of your "unsolved" games. I probably have more than you do, but Goldwood sounds interesting. When we finish Greedy Gulch and/or Ziggarat.
