east takes you to location two and west location 4...etc

carry on till you have completed all exits from all 16 loctions
the treasure is at location 10...
I'm afraid I don't quite understand these directions. By following such instructions it would be very easy to reach location 10. All you have to do is go 2 times North and then 1 East, and you are at square 10 on the 4X4 grid. But there's nothing there.

O.K. then,

So here is the route through the maze from the FIRST location you enter the maze,

E - E - S - N - NW - SE - THIS IS LOC 10 WITH THE VIOLIN
then
N - N - S - E - E - SE - THIS IS WHERE THE PACK IS
then
NW - N - N - N - E - S BACK TO THE NORTH SIDE OF LAVA

Hope this helps

WHAT NEXT IN THE ADVENTURES?

Yes, it does, but I am still puzzled as to how is this "maze" supposed to work and how did you figure this route by following the instructions you gave earlier. By following your comments, which I will copy and paste here again for clarity's sake:
To make sense of the printout

make a 4 by 4 grid of boxes
make the top left location 1 and the bottom right location 16.

Read the printout
1at location 1 if you go north you go to location 5
South is the exit
east takes you to location two and west location 4...etc

carry on till you have completed all exits from all 16 loctions
the treasure is at location 10...
I end up in square 3, not 10. Let's follow your directions but taking note of the squares as we move through the 4X4 grid:

E (square 2)
E (square 3)
S (square 15)
N (square 3)
NW (square 6)
SE (square 3) THIS IS LOC 10 WITH THE VIOLIN

Anyone will quickly notice the following peculiarity in the directions above: from square 3 you go South one time and then "retrace" your step back North. This would not make sense if the movement across the grid was so straightforward as you explained earlier. Why not just go directly NW from square 3 instead of going South to square 15, then back North to square 3 again? However, and here's the "funny" part, if you go South from square 3 and then go back North you apparently do not end up in the same place you came from. How do I know? Well, just drop an object at square 3, then go South and back North again: you don't see the object you dropped anywhere. You are not in the same place. Apparently the same thing happens when you go NW and then SE. You are not just retracing your steps. You end up in different locations.

By the way, I have just written a walkthrough for this game, which I will email to Jacob for posting at the site. I have included Amby and Doreen B in the credits for the walkthrough, since they both contributed crucial info for the completion of the game. Let me know if there are any objections to the inclusion of your names/nicknames.

Remember that going south then going back north does not always take you back to the original location.

I have sent Guiness my map I hope he can get it onto the forum.
