crystal cavern

#16 Post by Doreen B »

Hi all,

I have now managed to get the computer working and have the printout.

But where is the maze.

The goblet is a treasure I got 5 point when stored.

The drive is worked with - press red button- press blue button - put disk in drive - press blue button

on the pc you need the password etc from the magazine - try digging in the sand.

So it's the maze needed - Amby HELP

Did you do something to it? I just tried it again. My current score is 390 and dropping the broken crystal goblet does not give any points. In order to make extra-sure of this, I reloaded the game at the point when I first entered the caves and went straight for the goblet and straight back to the cupola. My score was 130 and after dropping the goblet it still remains 130. It does not count as a treasure (at least not the way it is found.)

By the way, are you counting the goblet as one of the 13 treasures you found? If that's so then you are still missing one real treasure. I am only counting as such the ones that give you points when dropped in the cupola. I have 13 of those plus the broken crystal goblet that does not give points.

Hi Juan

It seems I made a mistake in that my crystal goblet is NOT broken. I found mine from the room where the sapphire was in the stalactite, go N, E, E, is this the same as yours?

Even though I am not playing, it's great to see some collaboration in a game. Onward and upward fellow players!!! I was beginning to think everyone found more involving interests.

Yes, it's the same one, and I just figured out what went wrong. You see, instead of going to that room the way you indicated, I went through that hole in the wall after you pick a boulder from the stack of boulders blocking it. That breaks the goblet! You need to pick it up first through that other entrance or it will get smashed by the falling boulders.

Now I have 14 treasures. You seem to be missing one.

Yes, I'm also very pleased with this. I hope that this is the beginning of a new trend :)

No treasures missing I have 14...

bracelet
candelabra
doubloons
sapphire
ring
rug
tusk
record
toothpicks
wine
necklace
painting
stamp
goblet...

I have had a look at the printout carefully,

If you make 16 locations in a 4X4 grid and then workout your route through the maze you end up at loc 10 which I presume is the treasure location.

BUT WHERE IS THE MAZE?

I *think* I remember the maze entrance being north of the lava river.... So east end of switch room->w->n->n->n->

As I recall I found a violin along with some batteries in the maze...

What exactly do you mean by "switch room"?

The lava river is found when you descend the fissure with the parachute, but there does not appear to be a way to go north.

Hmmm, definitely north of the north bank of the lava river - which I think I got to after prying the floorboard with the crowbar in the toolshed then moving north several times...

Ah, so that's what the crowbar is for! I was actually trying to pry the boarded door that's near that shed.

Thanks.

Aha - now I have the violin and the power pack...

I had tried the floorboards in the shed but obviously hadn't got the crowbar.

This just leaves me with the globe problem - how to get whatever is inside it... Any tips here?

If you are referring to the globe in the room below where you store the treasures, I already pretty much gave the solution to that one in the first page of this thread.

I have managed to find the power pack, more by "chance" rather than by having truly figured out how the "map" works. By trying to make sense of it I went:

6 North
2 East
3 North West
5 North
1 West
1 South East

And there it was: the room with the power pack. But I haven't found the violin yet.

To make sense of the printout

make a 4 by 4 grid of boxes
make the top left location 1 and the bottom right location 16.

Read the printout
1at location 1 if you go north you go to location 5
South is the exit
east takes you to location two and west location 4...etc

carry on till you have completed all exits from all 16 loctions
the treasure is at location 10...

I have now completed the game with a score of 500, my first completed game of 2007.
