gateway to the skies

#1 Post by terri »

This is an interesting game, but I am stuck. One needs to pass through several halls of enlightment.

Anyone interested in playing it? I am stuck at the dwarf, and don't know how to kill him.

Terri,

Which version are you playing - Spectrum, BBC or C64?

By the way, did you check my own queries regarding 'It's Magic' and 'Enthar 7'?

All the best,

Geoff

Sorry. I forgot to say it's the Spectrum game.

Yes I saw your previous posts. Lately I've been into reading more than playing, but now am on holidays, so I'll give It's Magic a try. Enthar 7 sounds very long and big. And if you can't solve it? Maybe in the future...I need gratification relatively quickly after trying Setup with all its parts(which I could not finish).

I've played this for quite a bit but got stuck. I'll dig out my notes and post again.

Hmmm... apparently it's been almost a year and a half since I had a go at this one. I'm stuck in the second hall of enlightenment on top of a mountain. There's an orc here.

I haven't found the dwarf, though.

FIGHT ORC worked for me (I don't think you need to have a weapon).

I think the dwarf comes later.

How tiresome - KILL ORC asks for a weapon so I spent ages looking for the right item. Ok, back on track now.

Terri,

I've checked the programme's listing and it looks as though killing the dwarf might be a random element. However, have you tried drinking the juice before challenging him?

Yes, I tried drinking the juice. It doesn't help. Throwing things, using weapons, shooting gun, etc. also doesn't.

I should have maybe asked first how to get the hot coal, after getting a hint about pain. The coal is north of the basement before you cross the plank at the river.

I am trying to clean up some old games before I go back to work.

I've replayed the game, and short of the tediousness of retrieving objects which may be necessary, I am still stuck at the dwarf (beyond the third hall).

Any assistance available from folks?
