Desert Adventure, A new game in the Scott Adams format
Recently I discovered A new game, Desert Adventure.
It is written in the the Scott Adams format.
It's at ifarchive.org/indexes/if-archiveXscott-adamsXgamesXScott-free.
Click on Desert_Scott.zip. The game was written by Sam Trenholm in 2007.
It has a scott Adams datafile, a z-code version, A windows executable, Ansi C source for Scott-free and game source code.
I was going to submit it but didn't know how I should go about doing it.
I also have a solution to the game.

I have submitted a commented solution and a review. Sure the game comes with a solution. But the only comments it provides are a spoiler warning. So I submitted my solution, as well as a review.

One thing I still haven't found out, and unless I've overlooked it, I can't find it in your solution either: where do I learn the magic word? I didn't come across it, so I had to look it up in the solution.
Re: Desert Adventure, A new game in the Scott Adams format
The magic word is, abre. Just type say abre and you'll be good.

Yes, I know, but how do I find the word in the game?
The game has to be solvable without the solution, but I couldn't find the word anywhere

Not sure. I'm not sure if it shows up in the game at all. But hey, one peek at the solution won't hurt, as long as you're not reading it just to solve the game. If I had the author's contact info, I would ask him, but alas I don't.

Sure it doesn't hurt
I just think it's odd if the game can't be solved on its own. But it's been known to happen before.

>LOOK LAMP
In game code:
>LOO LAM
? AVL OBJ_9
"The lamp glows and pulsates. On its side, I see the word `ABRE`."
