Spectrum solution errors: Daemon & The Haunting

I want to record RZX solutions for a Spectrum game that has two different-titled versions:

Daemon:

Both solutions fail to work.

The Daemon solution says DROP RUBY but then later RUB RUBY (when you don't have it). But even if you do keep the ruby, then RUB RUBY does not produce the claimed effect, but does nothing.

The Haunting solution has no ruby-rubbing, but says EXAMINE WALL, LOOK (now see a hazy doorway in the garden wall). No such doorway appears.

I have played neither game so I cannot give concrete help but just to eliminate one possibility have you tried doing this section the other way around (i.e., in Daemon do EXAMINE WALL, LOOK and in The Haunting do RUB RUBY)?

I have not tried (and can't really be bothered after trying and failing the same game twice — at least not right now).

I realise my post here began with "I want to X" but don't take it as pure selfishness: I am basically reporting a solution that doesn't work. That is a double evil, because (i) anyone who uses it will not in fact be able to solve the game, and (ii) anyone who might be looking for unsolved games to solve will disregard it because it is already "solved", even though it isn't.

So if nothing else you could perhaps flag the solution as 'doubtful'. Thank you! (P.S. I love CASA in general, lots of great stuff here.)

Yes, you need to rub the ruby in The Haunting for the doorway in the wall to appear.
