Perhaps there was a second edition of the original German book for C64, as I don't see Space Mission in there, despite it being typed-in here...

Some additional CPC links...

French version of Space Mission typed in...
https://cpcrulez.fr/GamesTest/space_mission.htm

French adventure editor "Venturefix" typed in...
https://cpcrulez.fr/applications_game-venturefix.htm

Which was apparently used to help produce
https://cpcrulez.fr/GamesTest/vol_en_pl ... ifique.htm
http://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C56 ... fique.html
...which is why Jorg is a credit there; I will probably remove that and add a credit to the notes instead, as it's not direct involvement. Publisher is *not* Venturefix, as that is the "adventure system".

This is a topic close to my heart, as I've spent a lot of time with Jörg Walkowiak's games. I should warn you that they are very buggy and most of them won't run as printed in the various books. Some of them have large chunks of code missing.

I think the first one I did was an English translation of the Amstrad CPC French version of Gold Rush. I had to make extensive changes to get that one to work. It's actually not a bad game once you've fixed all the bugs.

I have more news on the German programs from Data Welt that I haven't added to that thread as yet, as I'm waiting for a guy to test the Amstrad CPC version. I'll chase him up this weekend. I've also done the Atari version and an enhanced bug-fixed English translation of the Atari version. I am yet to type the C64 version. See that thread to see what I'm talking about.

Yes, that's a very interesting thread; especially learning about the Data Welt type-in Gefahr im Kaufhaus.

No rush for anything... Just randomly fell down yet another rabbit-hole today.

It's impossible to finish the Amstrad version of Gefahr im Kaufhaus due to bugs. Someone commented (in private) that this seems to be Jörg Walkowiak's trademark. I've done a bug-fixed version. This is the version that I was getting tested by a native German speaker, as I don't speak German myself. Anyway, I've done a map and solution so I'll check it on the Atari version and upload everything this weekend. I'll see if I can find time to type in the C64 version, as well.

There was already an entry for the plagiarised version of 'Gefahr im Kaufhaus', so I've updated that, together with map, solution, screen grabs and bug fixed versions of the Atari and Amstrad games. I haven't typed up the C64 version and don't feel particularly inspired to do so just at the moment. Maybe later.

I've done an English translation of the Atari game with more bug fixes and enhancements, but I might leave that unpublished (unless someone screams out for it), as I've also ported it to PunyInform. If I'm going to do an English version, I might as well go the whole hog and do it properly. The enhanced Inform 6 version could then be made available on many more platforms with better parser, richer descriptions, more sensible map and extra puzzles. The title translates to 'Danger in the Department Store', but I might rename it to something more dramatic like 'Department Store Bomber' or something like that. Anyway, that's just a teaser. Don't hold your breath waiting, as I have many other projects on my plate.

I have similar plans for 'Gold Rush', which is one of the other games from Walkowiak's books. I originally translated this to English from the buggy Amstrad French version. It's actually not a bad game once you fix all the bugs and add the stuff that was clearly unfinished.

I notice we had some of the Jörg Walkowiak games under the other spelling of his name as Joerg Walkowiak, so I've retagged those temporarily to the Jörg spelling; although some of them will be being combined with other entries.
