I need some alternatives to what we are playing now.
You're asking the wrong guy, I haven't found them in fact I'd clean forgotten about them. The question is, has Jacob?

P.S. Happy New Year to one and all.

OK, I have just tried the invisible spirit and it works. Just climb the Wrekin, blow the horn, go north and "get spirit". Ridiculous. That accounts for 8 of the spirits. We know 3 are potentially unachievable that leaves only the Greemon one to discover. For the ninth spirit go to "Sussex, a garden...

Terri,
perhaps we should leave the moaning farmer and the island for later. Have you managed to do anything with the Haunted Hill or the Portal?

dave wrote: The game database seems to be the same; and a quick look at the contents of the file shows that the only difference is the filename. (12lost.bin as opposed to 12lost).

Good idea though...
Thanks, it will save me the time of working through this alternative version.

Dave, I have discovered an alternative disc image of 12 Lost Souls that you can download (Telecharger) from here http://www.planetemu.net/index.php?section=roms&dat=41&action=showrom&id=26541 (warning - the site seems to be plagued with pop-up and pop-under windows). There are other images of the ga...

Has anyone found any reason for giving the spade to the giant on the sand dune? Are we meant do something with the mound that he uncovers? This opens exits to the E and W Thanks, but you can already reach these locations without needing to climb the sand dune to the Red Desert, so does something el...

After giving the hammer to the giants an apple appears at the start location. After examining the apple try eating it, then looking. Has anyone found any reason for giving the spade to the giant on the sand dune? Are we meant do something with the mound that he uncovers? With regards to the lagoon, ...

Alastair, is it worth you posting your map, or I can send you mine if you send me your email by private message. We can then see if we have discovered anything the other hasn't? I'm still making the map, so far the only thing I have found that hasn't been mentioned by anyone else is the tower with ...

I think I've mapped all the obvious places, i.e., all the places you can reach via N, E, S, W, U, and D. What would be useful would be a list of how to reach the less obvious places that don't need special items or actions (the area reached after giving the cloth to the fairy would be classified as ...

You can LIGHT HAND and then THROW LIMB AT HAGS to get another spirit. This adventure doesn't seem to make much sense! Actually, that does make some sense. I would need to look it up, but I remember something in English folklore about using a hand taken from a corpse as a candle to ward off evil spi...

It's the same guy. From this page http://www.justadventure.com/Interviews/CliffJohnson/FoolMoney.shtm Did you know that I wrote a text adventure, programmed by Allen Pinero, published by Scott Adams, called Labyrinth of Crete? It was arguably the first text adventure that allowed you to control two ...

I even asked Scott Adams, who published the game, and he could not remember how it was done. Have you tried contacting Cliff Johnson? His web site is http://www.thefoolandhismoney.com/index.htm (email address about halfway down). Just remember to state that you are talking about his text adventure,...

Thanks for taking the time to cast some light on this mysterious version, even if it is as much a puzzle to you as to us!

Total shots in the dark as I haven't played the game, but does the generator have a separate fuel tank? Or perhaps the generator has a fuel cap/flap that needs opening.
