Re: Castle Hallways Ti-99

I updated all the TI-99/4a games that I could find a couple of years ago. Mickey Schmitt's guide was one of my references, but I ignored anything in the RPG category. I added screen grabs for all the text adventures. This obviously wasn't one of them.

Re: Authoring System Not Currently Showing

Does this affect new entries? I'm trying to catch up on a huge backlog (as you've no doubt noticed). Perhaps you could add a new game and search by system. If it shows up, then I reckon it would be okay to add other new games. It feels to me like it's only updates to the system that should be avoided.

Re: Scott Adams graphical adventures. S.A.G.A

Not offhand. You might have to search for one platform at a time. If you search for each game on CASA and there are screen grabs of the SAGA version for a particular platform, then you'll know that it exists for that platform. I know that SAGA versions exist for the following: Atari 8-bit: Adventure...

Re: No longer receiving email notifications

These should be automatic, unless they are being filtered out by some overzealous spam filter then something may be broken. I checked the spam settings on Google and my email client and couldn't find anything to indicate that CASA emails are being filtered. Both have a setting that spam emails are ...

No longer receiving email notifications

I used to receive an email notification when something I submitted had been accepted and entered into the database, there was an update to the forum or I had received a personal message. I haven't received any emails for any of these for a few weeks. Is something broken?

Re: Missing Atari 8-bit titles

Ah, of course. I've got it.

As Die Schatulle is only short, I translated it to English as The Casket. In the process of doing so, I can see that it is absolutely awful. Amateurish, inefficient code, no parser, no world model, buggy, cruel and guess-the-verb. Nevertheless...

Re: Printing Basic listings from VICE emulator

I have another suggestion. Firstly, download DirMaster. (The following is from my notes.) To export a BASIC program to a text file: Open DirMaster. Choose Disk > Open . Select file type (typically *.d64 for disk, *.t64 for cassette). Navigate to disk or cassette image. Select it and click Open . Rig...

Re: AI adventure game creating

My own experience with AI (specifically ChatGPT) has been pretty dismal. I used it to get some ideas for the interior of a submarine in 'Submarine Sabotage'. I won't say that the responses were completely useless, as they gave me enough ideas to do further research using normal Google searches. In s...

Clicking link after unsuccessful search sometimes gives 403 error

Follow these steps: 1. Search for 'elf christmas' (without the quotes). You get (0 results) and the 'Your search returned no games. Maybe refining it will help.' message. 2. Click on the 'refining', '#' or any of the alphabetic character links and you get a '403 Forbidden' error. This may be related...

Where do Apple IIe games go?

Under platforms, we have Apple II and Apple IIGS, but no Apple IIe. Which platform should I use to list an Apple IIe game?

Re: Author - Who to credit?

I think most of the games that I've come across have credited both designer and programmer, so you would include all three. Famous examples of designers being credited as author include Douglas Adams and Roberta Williams, but the programmers were Steve Meretzky and Ken Williams et al respectively.

Re: C64 - Adventure 1 The Mutant Spiders

Are there any C64 adventure games that need help solving? I would be happy to help. You can do an advanced search from the web site. Select C64/128 for the platform, select the Only games without solutions check box and click Search . This reveals 737 unsolved games. If you select English only, the...

The competition is now underway. We're one week in and you still have six weeks left to write that game. There's currently about US$350 in cash prizes, so why wouldn't you want to join in the fun? Retro games are welcome. Oh, and we also have a Discord server. Click here to have a chat, ask question...
