Steve W. Lucas games

I've just randomly disappeared down the Steve Lucas rabbit hole... There seems to be a lot of similarities between his games on different platforms which aren't currently noted in the database... For examples... Pharoah's Curse http://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C2126/Pharoah%27s+Curse.html and The...

Re: Double entry?

Yes, they appear to be the same game so the entries could be combined, especially given the solution on the original database entry is specifically for the original Aardvark release.

I wonder how many of those formats are actual official releases.

Re: When can I expect my submissions to be approved?

Denk is a very experienced text adventure author, as well as a valued contributor to many other IF sites out there. :)

Re: When can I expect my submissions to be approved?

I've processed your two other edits/additions. It's only your review that an admin needs to approve/add now. You'll see the site get updated multiple times every single day. A lot of us are adding our our research, or updating elements of listings like screenshots and plot/notes. We're not necessari...

Re: When can I expect my submissions to be approved?

It very much depends what the submissions are, how much work is involved adding them, and which admins have time available to process updates... Not everyone works on the same aspects of the site; and some more complicated submissions, especially those requiring additional research, often require a ...

I don't think the document is really being used by anyone.
By me. But it' s indeed not a priority at all.
You seem to be juggling multiple adventure systems at once. :)

Re: Gilsoft PAW/Quill

There seems to be a small error in The Quill Reference Guide in Other Observations & Notes: The C64 version also uses, in the tables, the character * rather than _. That's been corrected in the current version I am working on. The various versions of Adventure Writer use the asterisk too. PAW uses ...

Re: Westbury Mystery

Are you using the extracted database for a particular purpose? Are you porting the game to another format? The missing section is highly likely just to have an initial JUMP entry, that should be fairly easy to guess at and recreate from playing the game. It certainly won't be a TWIS entry, as the ex...

Re: Duplicate games & games that should be deleted

I would agree with those particular deletions. They're not really examples of the real edge-cases that are currently in the database.

Re: Westbury Mystery

This section... cd0: ??28?? cd1: INVEN cd2: ??24?? 6 22 cd5: ANYKEY cd6: ??29?? cd7: ANYKEY cd8: ??3b?? is not connected to the earlier TWIS * entry. as that terminates with a done. So the section of code above seems to be one, or potentially two, different entries that site between TWIS * and JUMP ...

Re: Westbury Mystery

The QL had a native RAMSAVE/RAMLOAD command and the Spectrum version had Ramsave through The Patch. I'm not familiar enough with C64 Quill (or C64 Quilled games) to know how authors manage to implement it in that system. A third-party code tweak could easily explain the issues with unQuill etc.

Re: Westbury Mystery

Does the rest of the database look okay apart from the section you've posted? We've used unQuill on some heavily modified Quilled games in the past and, although the database initially looks readable, it quite often it doesn't make much sense when you look at it closely... especially if the data has...
