Looking for Basic Source Code (any)

I'm looking for Text adventure Basic source code to port to TRS-80 MC-10. Preferably obscure or buggy or broken games.

Any suggestions or links would be much appreciated.

Re: Games everybody should know

I'm not too familiar with the modern scene so I'll stick to listing games from the classic era. This list is based partly on my experience but mostly on what I've read about the early history of text adventures, so the list is biased towards historical interest.

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10 (And Another)

I have also ported David Malmberg's "Castle Adventure" to the TRS-80 MC-10.

It is based on the same engine as Scott Adams "Priates Adventure." Makes for some interesting comparisons.

Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10

I've ported Scott and Alexis Adams second adventure "Pirates Adventure" to the TRS-80 MC-10 from TRS-80 Model 1 source. Lots of memory saving techniques for getting it to fit into 20K, if anyone is interested in doing the same for other low mem systems.

Re: Madame Fifi's

The spider can be found inside the small cave. I've uploaded a walkthrough.

Thanks for the walkthrough. I was able to use to play through to the end of my port of the game to the MC-10. It's nice to know that it all works to completion. You've nicely documented an obscure (but very interesting ...

Re: Madame Fifi's

I've uploaded the map. hints how to solve the game will follow one of these days.

I look forward to it. The map has already helped me track down one bug in my MC-10 version.
Any chance you could tell me how to get the spider after you show it the crystal and it turns green an goes through the ...

Re: Madame Fifi's

I finished a table with all the connections between the locations. Tomorrow I'll look if I can make a map of this, but because the game is like one big maze (normally you can't return the direction you came from) I don't know if I will manage this.

Yes. A very difficult prospect. Here's a graphic ...

Re: Madame Fifi's

Ok I managed to get the game running.
The map is not random, but about 14 other actions are. For instance flying with the tardis. This can be especially frustrating because you can use the tardis only a limited amount of times (actually the number of times you can use it is also random).
I'll start ...

Re: Madame Fifi's

I'm not very familiar with the TRS80. Can you tell me how I can play this game?

I'm not that familiar with the TRS-80 Model 1/3 either, although I have a working emulator (not sure which one). I have attached a couple of dsk files in a ZIP that I use to play the game. ND80.dsk I put in drive 0. I ...

Re: Madame Fifi's

I've solved the game and I've uploaded the map. I'll write a walkthrough one of these days.

Thanks for the map! Using it I was able to complete the game, although it was kind of tricky at the end there. You had to drop the sealed letter on the floor of shuttle for it to recognize that you had ...

Re: Madame Fifi's

I'm happy to contribute whatever I can to the efforts of the archive. If you're still doing old 8-bit Basic adventures--I would really like someone whose skilled to take a crack at ICEWAR and DRWHO from the list in my other post about programs I've ported. I haven't been able to crack either ...

Madame Fifi's

Ported and played Madame Fifi's Whore House. I found that the PC version (scavanged from the net somewhere) that I ported it from played a little differently than the walkthrough by Alex Dijktra here on the archive:

Re: Help with debugging some Basic classics

Well, I still can't get the Einstein to run under Mess. I suspect something in the latest distros have broken the binary for the Einstein and lots of other machines. There are lots of posts from other people in similar shakes. However, I have put my hand on some DSK utilities that will allow me to ...
