Yes, these are the first clues in the book. There are 15 or so more. It's hard to know which ones to give since I haven't actually played the game and I don't want to give a clue that gives too much away and spoils your enjoyment of the game...

Does your clue book say anything about these items ...

Oh, yes, that's right, when he asks you to identify yourself. Yes, I did that.

I haven't played this game but it is covered in an old adventure game hint book I have. Based on what's in that book the guy in the museum part is pretty far along in the game...

Lets see, have you:
gotten stuff out of drawer

I suppose this is the drawer at your office. Yes, I have.

Re: Castle of Terror for the Spectrum

For example, you can't just say "lock wheel" like in the C64 version, you actually have to do it step by step (turn rung into pin, place pin in slot, insert pin, and then lock wheel.)

Correction: I have been able to lock the wheel just by typing "lock wheel" after turning it into a pin (by ...

Castle of Terror for the Spectrum

Does anyone know where to find a fully working copy of this game for the Spectrum? The Z80 snapshot file posted at World of Spectrum:

http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0009585

does not work well. It freezes when you reach the second part of the game (tried on Spectaculator and ...

If the game could be completed without using the "use" command this might not matter, but I doubt this is possible. After inspection of the program, I found that command listed in the game's vocabulary.

since 'wend' doesn't really sound like a basic command to me,

It seems to be a BASIC command:

If you look at the other program lines, it's full of typical BASIC commands. The game was programmed in that language.

maybe simply add a 'rem' (1090 ...

Unknown Planet

Has anyone tried playing Unknown Planet for the Amstrad?:

http://tacgr.emuunlim.com/downloads/filedetail.php?recid=3803

Every time I try to use the "use" command it crashes. It gives the following error message:

"Unexpected WEND in 1090"

If you type "List 1090" to take a look at that program ...

By the way, I have just written a walkthrough for this game, which I will email to Jacob for posting at the site. I have included Amby and Doreen B in the credits for the walkthrough, since they both contributed crucial info for the completion of the game. Let me know if there are any objections to ...

Re: crystal caverns

Aha - now I have the violin and the power pack...

I have managed to find the power pack, more by "chance" rather than by having truly figured out how the "map" works. By trying to make sense of it I went:

6 North
2 East
3 North West
5 North
1 West
1 South East

And there it was: the room with ...
