Re: royal quest

OK I GIVE UP...

What do you say and where?

OK, since Doreen and Dave are interested in knowing the answer to the final puzzle, and Terri apparently managed to discover it, I'll post it here:

Go to the dry and sweet smelling cave and say: WARM

How did I figure this out? Well I read the cave ...

Doreen, you need to have the feather. Killing the dragon with the sword doesn't work. The sword is one of those red herrings.

I actually finished the adventure with a saved game where I had killed the dragon with the sword, as it seemed more "fun" than with the feather. The "Dragon Slayer" sword ...

Game over!

OK, I have finished the game. If any of you gives up let me know, I'll give the solution to the final puzzle.

There's quite a few red herrings in this game. The dry well, the little red fishes (obvious!), the brass door, etc.

I will write a walkthrough for the game and send it to Jacob. I will ...

Re: royal quest

I'm afraid I don't understand this. What pit? The one inside the caves? If so, you can't go west from there.

Could you please clarify what room you mean by the "alcove"? Where is this?

Never mind. I have found both of them now. You had to examine the musty cave to the west for the alcove to ...

Once you have the hilt and the sword it 'magically' comes together to form a 'Dragon Slayer' sword.
Interesting. I did it but with the peacock's feather. It seems that there's more than one way to accomplish certain things in this game.

So I think we need to find the wizard first. The feather is needed for the dragon, I think. Though who knows where it is?

Yes, the feather is needed to get past the dragon. Finding it is easy. Just go to the North bank of the lake, then to the garden of the small cottage. You will find a peacock ...

Re: royal quest

The coins are found west and south of the pit.

I'm afraid I don't understand this. What pit? The one inside the caves? If so, you can't go west from there.

do you think that the well is the place with no corruption of water?

Maybe. But if you read the description of the part of the caves that ...

I've tied the rope to the pit, but how to get down?

Is this the rope that the troll doesn't allow you to take? If so, where did you find the bag of coins for the troll?

Is it necessary to return to the dwarf and give him the apples? The reason I ask that is that there are a limited number of ...

Re: royal quest

I tried playing this one a while back, but if I remember correctly I wasn't able to get a light to explore those caves. How did you solve this?

That seems to be a different "Lighthouse" game, in which Barrie Eaton was also involved.

The keys unlock the dressing room doors after the phantom has locked you in. The tiepin may do the same but this also unlocks the door at the bottom of the trapdoor which is locked if you go there first.
If you listen at the intercom the phantom gives you a message. If you listen a second time he ...

OK, I have had another bash on Opera House without much success. I have even looked at the code (which I hate doing) but haven't gleaned any solutions from that. What I have discovered though:
The switch that controls the organ also controls the trapdoor.
When you go in the sewer, out the trapdoor ...

OK finished QA. You need to get in the hunting pit to get a ring, one of the treasures. I will write out a solution and send in to Jacob. Juan, do you want to PM me your surname or nickname etc and I will put you on the solution too. Just Opera House to finish now.

Nice. Game over. Now let's see ...
