Re: unknown planet

You will need some timber to lean against the fence.

If you have built the raft do some sailing on the lake.

The tree can be layed 2 times in different places.

I have a small tree which I picked up North of where the lizard-like creature is. But that doesn't seem to work on the fence (at least ...

Red Herrings

Also, these items appear to be red herrings or at least have proven useless so far:

Tub of icecream
Half of an apple
Packet of popcorn
Glass (it has some booze in it)
Bottle (empty)
Bag of nuts
Lamp (description says "it gives off a pale green light")

Try Opera House for the Atari. No progress since the last message on that thread.

Okay, got this one working and have given it a quick look. So far I have more objects than I can carry and I am trying to get the lay of the land. Seems like everyone else is quite a bit further along in the game ...

Re: unknown planet

Can I make a suggestion...

Start again from the start and do NOT kill the snake or the lizard.

Just get and wear the helmet and then go straight to the alien and kill him.

I have just tried this out and it works.

As I said earlier you 'find' nothing by killing the lizard or snake. So they could ...

Re: Castle Adventure (by B.M. and M.C Eaton - Amstrad)

Perhaps we are not talking about the same room? Mine says "in a room with a stone carving on the wall. In the middle of the carving you can see a sunken square hole"

Yes, it's the same room. Strange, mine says: "in a small room. It has a stone carving on one of the walls and in its centre you can ...

Re: unknown planet

Barrie has a habit of being very specific with inputs.

I have written down ' kill alien with gun'

Try that - let me know if it does't work.

After some 20 times of "kill alien with gun", all with the same result ("You shoot at the alien and miss"), I think it's pretty safe to assume that this is ...

Re: unknown planet

It isn't necessary to kill either the lizard or the snake - just the alien, I was wearing the helmet and had the laser when I kikked the alien.

I am also wearing the helmet while I keep shooting it, but it's useless, he never gets hit. Were you carrying anything else? Did you do something to the ...

OK, I went back to my old saved games, and yes, I was able to build the raft. You need the following items to build it:

Hammer
Barrels
Wooden planks
Nails

Pick up all these items, so they are in your inventory, and then just type Build raft.

Re: Castle Adventure (by B.M. and M.C Eaton - Amstrad)

There are a lot of "Castle Adventures" but I don't see a solution to this one yet...

I'm stuck in the area near the torture chamber and the room with the sunken square hole in the middle of a stone carving...

How did you get to see what shape the hole is? What command did you use? I have tried ...

Re: unknown planet

Juan -

Did you ever get any further in this game...

No. Those two creatures have kept me stuck.

It seems there is a random factor in killing/shooting the alien/snake etc.

I tried killing them a bunch of times, yet they were never hit.

I can't build the raft.

I need to check my saved ...

Juan and Alastair - thank you both SO much - this information will be very helpful.

At the risk of sounding totally stupid - what are Cider Press and Sneeze? Emulators?

Thanks again.

Cider Press is an editor for Apple II disk images, a great tool. You can download it here:

Re: Inmate

Anyone care to take a shot at this Apple II game that has eluded me for years? Available for download from Asimov at ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/images/games/adventure/inmate/ or playable online at VirtualApple at http://www.virtualapple.org/inmatedisk.html

I'm particularly interested ...

Interesting that you managed to finish by using the sword on the dragon. When I tried that, even though I was "healed" by the wizard and got the parchment, I didn't really get the curse taken off because I died a few moves after (before even getting to the warm and cozy cave).

Not quite sure why ...
