Anyone around here played this game?:

I must be close to the end (86%), but I am stuck in the crypt after scaring Dracula with the garlic. Once inside the crypt it seems impossible to get out. The game says that "there are passages going east and west" but ...

Re: New site - bug reports
Not sure if this is a "bug" or just that they have not been updated yet, but two of my solutions seem to be missing. They are for the following games:
Mines of Saturn
Manor of Doom
Plus the solution for Terror from Sarnath has been incorrectly listed under Jacob's name:

Re: Do "authors" include illustrators and musicians?
When I write walkthroughs I always name all the programmers credited by the game itself (their names are often given in the game's title screen), even if it's just the guy who programmed the graphics or the music/sounds.

Re: Quest for the Power Rod
I used a combo of two programs to take a look inside the game: Grackle and Ungac.
Glad to know my program (grackle) is getting used :-) (I wrote it to allow the playing of games, but this is harder than dumping them.)
I haven't updated it for a couple of years, so if you want anything added or ...

Re: Quest for the Power Rod
No, I had the same number of objects as you (that one object at the bottom of the rockpool can't be picked up, it's just a red herring; so are the snips.)
I suppose the snips are unnecessary, given that there is nothing in the locations where you can cut the wire. If there are only two red ...

Re: Quest for the Power Rod
Congratulations! I'm done too. So you managed the weeping willow too?
Thanks for getting me out of the maze. Out of curiosity how many objects did you have to map it? I had 8. Did you have more? Or are you just a better mapper?
If you wish, once you write the solution, I can proof it.

Re: Quest for the Power Rod
I finally killed the demon guard. It's incredibly easy. All you have to do is kill it as soon as you reach the gates. Do not examine it or do anything else, just kill it. You catch it off guard.

Re: Quest for the Power Rod
Thanks for getting me through the maze, though I have no idea how to get to the black tower. While you cannot get the shiny object, if you dig around this area you will get another object which you need (it's the ring!). Plus there is another object there, which may help you get past the Lord.

Re: Quest for the Power Rod
OK, here is how you get out of the undergrowth maze:
E, S, W, SW, SW
I am now stuck at the gate to enter Tower Black. There's a demon guardian there and I have not been able to find out how to get rid of him yet.
In another place there is also a pool with a shiny object at the bottom, but you can ...

Re: Quest for the Power Rod
OK, I tried the bear cave thing. Seems useless so far.
I could not find the other light source, though. I tried a bunch of 3 word combinations but I did not hit upon the right one.
I have just discovered that the bear breaking your lantern is what triggers the torch under the bed. If you do ...

Re: Quest for the Power Rod
While the location descriptions are identical, they are not really. I'm not sure you need to go in any specific direction. I believe I just CUT WIRE several times and eventually returned to a familiar location. All there is there is a notice, saying nothing. A useless diversion? I don't know. I ...

Re:
It's there on the first screen you get. The font is hard to read, so it can be easily missed.
I've been to 25 locations, not including the maze, and a few being lost in the the wires.
How does the part with the barbed wire work? I try to cut them but it seems I just end up in the middle of it ...

Re: Mines of Saturn, early adventure for the Spectrum 16K
Same here. I was not aware that those instructions were there. The instructions clear up why the game seemed to be "bugged" ("When disaster strikes, GO TO 1 will start the game again. Do not use RUN, as this will clear the variables.")

Re: Mines of Saturn, early adventure for the Spectrum 16K
Anyone want to try the companion piece to this game. There is a version that has both games, but Part 2 (Return to Earth) is empty. So you need to find the separate game. It too, does not appear difficult to solve. Some trial and error needed.
