Re: Genre Suggestions

Here's just a few of the existing competition categories that don't fit in with any of the existing genres. These are CATEGORIES, not individual competitions. There's hundreds of individual competitions.

English competitions
@party competitions
1 to 2K classic text adventure competitions ...

Re: A question for everyone who has recently submitted information to CASA

Ha. I knew it. I still get "Invalid input: return_address" when submitting screen grabs for existing games.

Competition Entries etc. (split from "Genre Suggestions")

The problem with the current genres is that it mixes several concepts into the one grab bag. There should really be separate categories for where the game is set (city, country, planet etc.), when the game is set (year or period, past, present, future etc.), style of game (serious, humourous, murder ...

Re: Site problems

This is a bit late, as I didn't notice the thread, but I couldn't log on. I fixed it by resetting the password, then changing it back again. This might be a useful tip for others.

Re: A question for everyone who has recently submitted information to CASA

I used to get that all the time and just ignored it. It now says, "You can now go back to where you came from" with "go back" being hyperlinked to the game's page. So, the old bug appears to be fixed, but I'll keep an eye out anyway.

Re: Google adventure

Did you search from the Google home page? It won't work with another search engine like Yahoo or Bing. Are you sure you're displaying the developer's console? Other than that, I can't think what to try.

Re: Google adventure

One of the blokes at work found it in an article on lifehacker and it's mentioned in a Wikipedia article on Google's easter eggs. A search for "Google Easter eggs" may find some other references.

Google adventure

I just discovered that there's an old-fashioned text adventure embedded in the Google search engine...if you know where to look. Yes folks, it's another Google easter egg.

First off, you'll need a browser running on a desktop computer and that browser must have a developer console. Browsers on ...

Re: Please delete Evil Crypt - not an adventure

I agree. It's a role-playing game. However, if we're going to start deleting RPGs, here's a few more type-ins to consider for deletion:

Re: AdvSys / Columbus & Atari ST Public Domain Adventures

I had an Atari ST and collected lots of public domain adventures. I also got around to playing a few, but haven't had time to write these up and submit them yet. One of these days...

I've still got lots of Atari ST floppies, but don't have a diskette drive to read them any more. I guess I need to ...

Re: Adventure games in popular culture

I know this is an old topic, but I remember at least three adventure references in Big Bang Theory . Firstly, two short transcripts with Zork references, then a longish transcript with an unnamed text adventure. Can you identify the last one or is it a mashup?

From series 2, episode 20, 'The ...

Re: Seeking SUDS games

I found a new SUDS game called House of Dreams written by areg5 in around 2005. In the process, I discovered a few new abbreviations, including AP (age progression) and AR (age regression). The author's nick name is probably derived from the latter. As best as I can work out, this is an adult-themed ...
