And here's what I reckon it should look like with all the illogical one-way exits removed, one unnecessary door removed and the E-E exit from rooms 5 to 6 changed to E-W:

For those that haven't played it, I should point out that the room descriptions do not show the ...

Here's what my map looked like before adding all the room names and submitting it to CASA:

Re: The Bianco Mansion
Solution, map, screen grabs etc. have been submitted. Knowing how fast submissions get processed, it should be available in about two months.

Re: The Bianco Mansion
Progress update. There were no typos, it was just a crazy map. If you delete all the one-way connections, it all makes sense...except for the doors. These are badly implemented. Why have doors at all when you can get to the rooms behind the doors using the many one-way exits?

Re: The Bianco Mansion
Great find. I've typed it in and am playing it on a CoCo emulator. There are some very frustrating features, but it seems to be a fairly classic old-school type-in. The map is really crazy, so I must have a typo somewhere. I'll need to check the room connections. It's 1:30 a.m. here, so I'll get ...

Incidentally, the original, unadalterated, bug-free listing is now available at bbcmicro.co.uk.

Re: Castle Of Fear error
I had similar problems with Atari disk images many years ago, so I support Alastair's recommendation. Always send everything in a zip file.

Re: Castle Of Fear error
The listing in The Micro User has been printed using some sort of pretty printer, so that there's automatic word wrap, spaces after certain keywords and carriage return/line feeds before the colon command separators. This makes it easy to read, but hard to type up and get the spacing right. I ...

I've got a BASIC listing and a scan of the magazine article. I'll check it during the weekend and get back to you...unless someone else beats me to it.

Re: The Spy from the North
I've sent a map and solution to CASA.
It looks like Secret Agent for the BBC is essentially the same game. This was published in A&B Computing , issue 13, vol. 1, no. 13, February 1985, pp. 102–107. I haven't played it yet, but it has a very similar intro, the same number of rooms, the same jet ...

Re: The Spy from the North
I've solved it. It's got a sprawling map with very few objects and very few puzzles. Most of the objects are red herrings and most of the puzzles don't need to be solved to complete the game. There are LOTS of vehicles - none very well implemented. (It could have been called "Planes, trains and ...

The Spy from the North
I'm working through some old type-in adventures and am currently frustrated by The Spy from the North written by Steve W Lucas for the Amstrad CPC. It was originally published in Games Computing in an unknown issue from 1984 and reprinted in Personal Computing Today , vol. 3, no. 7, February 1985 ...

Re: Small CASA bug / Upload File when not logged in
This used to sting me quite a bit in the early days. Click the browser's Back button and all your input is gone and you have to start all over again. I now do all my changes in a text editor before I even log on, then make the submission or changes as quickly as possible.

Re: The Curse of Crowley Manor in BASIC
I did this in mid-2017, so I don't remember how much is left to do. You can play it through to the end, but I think there's still some work to be done in the mid-game. It certainly needs a thorough play testing. I'd also like to redo the graphics, but I'm no artist. This might make a good project ...

Re: The Curse of Crowley Manor in BASIC
Is that the one by Jyym Pearson? I originally played that on the Atari 8-bit. A little while back, I ported it to Inform and vastly expanded it. I compiled it for Glulx, complete with graphics from the Apple II version, but with most images modified a bit. I haven't released it, as it's not quite ...
