Re: One Step Beyond by Chiang Bros.

This is what I know...

It appears that the Chiang brothers (Anthony, Kenneth & Samuel) originally published under their own company (Chiang Brothers Software), then some of their games were included on Softdisk . ( Softdisk was a disk magazine for the Apple II family.) However, this is purely ...

Re: Space Derelict! (type-in)

I haven't seen the Apple II or PC books, but if someone can find a pdf of those, I can probably modify the TRS-80 listing appropriately.

Re: Space Derelict! (type-in)

I'm pretty sure that I've typed that one in, but it was a long time ago and I haven't played it yet to check that there's no typos. Ah, yes. I see that I've got a disk image and screen grabs for the TRS-80. I seem to recall that it was for the Model 4. Give me a week or so and I'll get onto it.

Re: Info for SWAN contradicts games in database

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info. I now see that the other three are listed as never released, yet all three have screen grabs. That tricked me.

Info for SWAN contradicts games in database

In the info for SWAN, it says, "Only one game written with the system, Mindfighter, was ever released", yet there are four games listed. Either the info on SWAN is incorrect or the games are attributed to the wrong development system. Could someone check this?

Broken link for 'The Secret of Landusia'

In the notes for this game, the last sentence says "see here for details", but the link is broken. See https://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C9 ... C+The.html

Description of ADL is wrong

There are at least two adventure authoring languages abbreviated to ADL. CASA shows these as ADL and ADL [1]. The entry for ADL is incorrect. It gives the book title as Adventure Design Language (1986) by A. F. de Geus, J. H. Jongejan and A. M. Koelmans. This should be Adventure Description Language ...

Re: Cursed Be The City - solution removed

There's also a solution for the C64 version by Dorothy Millard. This is different to the one on The Tipshop, so I've submitted it. I'm sure Dorothy won't mind. If possible, can you show it as being submitted by her?

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10

Holy mackeral. I started sorting through my Captain 80 notes today. The maps are dated 2015. How time flies when you're having fun!

I've been going through the notes for Arctic Adventure. There's 1 page for the map, 1 page for the solution, 3 pages for notes, 1 page for bug fixes and 70 pages of ...

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10

The Captain 80 book of BASIC adventures is one of my favourite series, second only to the SoftSide Adventure of the Month series. I have all the Captain 80 games, including screen grabs, maps (as Trizbort files), solutions (hand-written) and BASIC source code as plain text. Send me a PM for anything ...

Re: Zodiac (Adventure) - A&F Software

I actually have admin rights, but I couldn't update that one because the root path hadn't been set. This typically happens when two games have the same name. I've now added the cover and the Your Computer advert as well.

If you find any other Oric games that are missing, let me know and I'll add ...

Yes, I've got it. I've submitted it to oric.org. It may take a while to get it updated. I'll let you know when it's available. If you can't wait, send me a PM and I'll send it to you.

Re: English translations of Slovakian adventures

There are over 200 Czech "adventures" for the Atari 8-bit. Of those, only 146 are currently in the database. I haven't been confident to add the others, as Czech is a complete mystery to me and I can't tell whether they're parser-based, choice-based, simulations or something completely different.

Re: African Adventures

No credits are given on the printed "cover" that the tape was mounted to, but the editor is Peter Gerrard, so it's probably reasonable to presume that he was the author unless further evidence to the contrary comes to light.

Re: 12 Lost Souls

Without having played the game, your logic sounds reasonable. It would allow you to at least finish the game.

Having done the hex editor thing myself on other games, I know how difficult it can be when you can't add or delete bytes. When you've got the source code, it's not a problem, because you ...
