Re: Mystery voyage C64

Can't eat the rat, but can you give it to the wolf?
Don't know what's the use of the rat. It appears to be just a trap to get killed when you eat it like the green apple in part 1.
Frustrated by not being able to draw the sword from the rock properly, I cheated. You need the sword to kill the ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

Hadn't tried pushing leaves. Cutting, and moving, yes, but not pushing
The actions in this game aren't always obvious. Further on you have to examine things which aren't mentioned in the description but I only assumed they were there.

this is more than revolting.
Actually it is not as revolting ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

Didn't find a coconut and what to do with the beetle.
To find the coconut you have to climb the tree on the western island (the one with the caves). On top of the tree type PUSH LEAVES to encounter the coconut. You can either eat it or slice it with your knife to drink the milk.

You first have to ...

Alastair wrote:That's an unusual spelling, I'm more familiar with poteen - the word that is, not the actual drink
It seems the original name in Gaelic is Poitín [ˈpˠotʲiːn], anglicised as Poteen or Potcheen. Who dares to say playing adventure games isn't educational :D

Re: Mystery voyage C64

SE island? Must have missed that
I think you've been there. It's the island where you found the rose. You'll find an object there which is useless against the dragon as it is. But if you modify it a bit it becomes deadly.

I got the hint about the chalice, after I had slogged through the mapping ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

the equine monster (though I got the hint, but cannot solve the last word)
The last word is also written in reverse but you also have to substract one from each letter (b=a, c=b and so on)

I presume the monster you wake up is where you drop the treasures.
Yes, inside the cave you can find a ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

Since I don't know what is a treasure (presuming to keep) and what is an object (you give to someone), this may take some time.
You get 20% for having each treasure in your possesion. Unfortunately the game doesn't know the command SCORE but only shows your score when you QUIT the game or when you ...

Re: blue dragon - BBC game

I played again using your walkthrough. But one does not come across the wraith then. Is this intentional? Or did you not run into it?
I did run into the wraith when I played the game sometimes but the wraith and a few more characters (which are not random) later on in the game are not needed to ...
