Re: presserving newer titles by John Wilson

Regarding your comment in the submission queue about John & Twine adventures. John actually wrote several adventures with Twine in 2011/2012. I'd not tagged or put them in the database as they're not parser based, and I don't think CASA really covers Twine games (there are some existing ones in the ...

Site search issue (22/03/23)

For searches including a space, (e.g. Haunted House), the site search currently (22/03/23) sends the user to a "Forbidden" error message page.

There are no issues with searching for single words (e.g. Haunted) and you can get around the current multiple word issue using a + (e.g. Haunted+House).

Re: presserving newer titles by John Wilson

Last time I checked, they were all currently still downloadable from John's site...
https://zenobigames.blogspot.com/

I don't personally think there will be an issue with them being preserved in the future. People archive things without permission anyway. You could argue that John didn't have the ...

What's his mailbox address? It's useful to tag with that, as it may help make connections later. From that catalogue, we know it's a pre-1990 release, then.

Re: Missing Atari 8-bit titles

Check the credits. It was based on the book of the same name written by Terry Jones. CASA says it was written by Pete and Mike Austin. Atarimania says it was written by Sue Gazzard and Pete Austin. One or the other must be wrong.
According to the Erik manual...

Just a few more things...

An unofficial conversion of The Saga of Erik the Viking was released for the Atari by Homesoft in 2015:

Re: Writing in information for (my own) series?

Outside of forum-related updates, you may also find that CASA submission emails are tagged with the email address of the admin/editor who processes them. There's definitely the potential to miss those responses... I know that my website hosting service's spam filter particular likes keeping hold of ...

It's here...

Bear in mind it was primarily a deliberately "crap" game, initially created as a submission for the annual comp.sys.sinclair Crap Games Competition.

Re: Writing in information for (my own) series?

Ah, spotted the second game (I was searching for "rolling") so the first two are now in a suitable group. We'd just need some details on the third game.

EDIT: Added a placeholder for the third game. I notice it is currently not linked to the other two on IFDB.

Re: Writing in information for (my own) series?

Just send an update on the relevant game pages to say which games are in a series (and the order if necessary) and it's a simple job for an admin to create a game group to tag them all with.

I see we don't have the other two games in the database yet. If you submit their details, just mention they ...

Re: Linking to outside walkthroughs?

I tend to personally put any extra information in the notes section. The template you've got off Garry works, in terms of making it easy for an admin/editor to copy and paste the information into the appropriate fields when updating the page.

I agree that David Welbourne's walkthroughs are great ...

Re: Random BASIC type-in text adventure thread

Yeah, I agree. I've amended the entry to make that clear. There's an argument for deleting it but sometimes leaving an entry and tagging it as not really being an adventure stops someone else re-adding it later and then wasting their time researching it again; especially when it's an existing long ...

In which case, it probably doesn't really qualify as a CASA "text adventure". I don't see a lot of text! Or that much adventure.
