Re: 8bitAG.com/info

May I suggest you to use a high-performance compressor for your png picture files? A gain of more than 60% appears on some pictures.

Thanks for the link. At the moment I'm not particularly bothered about compressing the pictures; I know they're not saved in a ...

Re: Strange Odyssey - missing section in solution

I've added the "corrected" section from the Tipshop's version of the solution to our one. Thanks for pointing out the issue.

Re: Strange Odyssey - missing section in solution

Strangely, the copy on the Tipshop of the CASA solution has suitable additional instructions that are missing from our archived version...

Re: How long does it take to show a new submission in the database?

It was definitely worth Oloturia posting, as the game wasn't in the database and there was no submission in the queue.

Re: How long does it take to show a new submission in the database?

I'm guessing that it's a GAC game by quickly looking at the screenshots?

Re: How long does it take to show a new submission in the database?

The only game by A. De Vivo that I can see in the database is https://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C8 ... 2C+La.html

I'll add that other game now for you.

Re: Adventureland.Z5 problem with Genie

The IFDB entry for Adventureland does say "WARNING! The Z-Code conversion of this game is certifiably buggy" so some of your issues may not be solvable. I would tend to steer clear of third-party Z-machine/Inform ports of classic games; when it's so easy to play an original 8-bit version through an ...

Re: The Next Adventure Jam

Cool! Just a pity that all those which have no downloadable version will be lost forever in no time.

Well, it's extremely easy for authors to make an offline version of Adventuron games. And incredibly easy to make versions for 8-bit & 16-bit machines, using the DAAD export and DAADReady! If ...

Re: Atari Legend external links broken

There are issues with a few of the other searches too.

The CPC-POWER links don't do anything useful any more. (Although they do take you to a usable page of the site, rather than a 404 page so that's not too bad)

World of Spectrum has been altered so you get a 404 error on those too.

The ALLY command is a cool feature.

Strangely, I've just been corresponding with the author and have popped a page up about the Hopesoft games here... http://8bitag.com/info/hopesoft.html

You seem to have to spend a lot of time commanding NPCs to do things. I'm not a big fan of that sort of thing.

Re: Cell of the Ridges zx spectrum

The author writes that cell of ridges was a lot better than Leotrope. That made me curious and that's why I started playing it but I didn't even manage to get out of the cell

Graham's Doomsday was the one that was totally different. Very dark in tone. He even produced a second version of the ...

Getting out the cell doesn't really seem to be an issue. You just go north twice.
