There's a lot there... I'll look through in more detail at some point, many of them have existing notes that we've added to their CASA entries exploring possible Atari versions, but some ones that initially jump out at me...

Re: Recovered Adventures
According to the code, that flag is set when you fit the piece into the jigsaw. Then OPEN BENSONS LOCKER should work as long as you're in the locker room and the key is also carried.
I presume that was the behaviour you were expecting, though?

Re: Recovered Adventures
I'll have a dive into the source code if I get chance later.
It'll be a case of tracking where flag 62 is set, as that seems likely to be the issue.

Re: Copyrights for classic-era games
In many cases, the people who wrote the games are out there to ask permission. The games still belong to them.
In that particular case, the copyright on the game is owned by Jack & Roger's family and/or John Wilson's family; with both Jack and John being deceased.
I do, as I've said elsewhere, get ...

Re: Adventure Master
I think Alex is the C64 expert, so he might have some ideas.
I've used 8bitfiles a lot, so I will miss that if it stays offline. I don't really trust some of the other "ROM" sites out there. I guess I could investigate the TOSEC downloads, but I don't really want a big C64 collection... it's only ...

Re: RPGs... removal discussion & log
They're not objects, really. You don't carry them. They're just "chance" encounters that produce a positive or negative effect on your stats.

Re: RPGs... removal discussion & log
I only think we should be careful with adding new games if they don’t have adventure elements.
It's all individual cases. I tend to just log it in the notes if it's obviously an RPG, especially if there are connected submissions such as screenshots or solutions. I do sometimes spend lots of time ...

RPGs... removal discussion & log
A thread, perhaps, to discuss non-adventure games and possible removal/deletion from the database; before doing so and to act as a log of what changes have been made?
This game... "Revenge of Castle Dread"... currently entered in the database in its Spanish form...

Re: Z-code versions of Dorothy Millard's games incl. menus
I wonder what the purpose is of using ZQuill instead of UnQuill(?)
unQuill is a great tool, for dissembling games, but it makes really bloated z-code files that aren't really suited for playing on retro systems. I can't speak for auraes, but I think the intention was to produce "proper" z-code ...

Re: Adventure Master
I still use the 8bitfiles ftp site. The problem isn't the site itself, but the fact that direct FTP support has been removed from all the major browsers. So I just manually browse into it using Filezilla. (Usually if a game is on the C64 sites, it'll be on the Internet Archive, which is often a nice ...

Re: Z-code versions of Dorothy Millard's games incl. menus
It wouldn't be appropriate to host them as "fixed games". There's nothing wrong with the originals and that's still the best way to play them to get the proper experience.
Have you seen auraes' zQuill project, by the way? https://gitlab.com/auraes/zquill

Re: Adventure Master
Oh wow, thats a name I've not heard in a long time! I remember playing The Dare after reading about it in ACAR, I believe Mario co-wrote it with Dorothy.
Ah. that's useful because a quick look at the game shows it was published first in Australia by Base 7 Software and a magazine search shows ...

It's nice to hear that David is still around and is aware that his games are still being enjoyed.
