Re: Mystery voyage C64

Oh my.

My experience is very different.

I used the coins to play cards in the bar. You get something there that you can use withe the leprechaun. That answers you other question. You get the coins back so you can give them to the woman. When you read the book, it tells you the hint that you need ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

I am playing along in Part 2.

Question:

The maze is long. There is a hint at the end of it, if you give the woman something. Where do you find the answer to the hint?

Re: Mystery voyage C64

Thanks Alex.

The object in the drawer seems to me to be an implement for finding water? Any idea where to use it? And what verb to use?

And what to do at the chameleon monster?

I think I am stuck too.

And how exactly do I do that? My regular commands do not work.

Re: Mystery voyage C64

Thanks for all this information.

Yes, I found the other treasure around where the ladder is.

What are the nails for?

Can you help me out a little more specifically what to do in the bedroom?

Re: Mystery voyage C64

Not much progress. Three things to drink and two to eat.

I thought that somehow shortcircuting the voltage in the library (with the nails) would get me the scroll but it doesn't. It probably contains a hint about how to get somewhere like in Part 1?

I haven't found a maze yet though.

I presume ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

I found the raft:

1. South of "the majestic island to the south" location

and

2. West of the "walled island" location.

On further reflection, I think I just saved/restored too many times. Forget what I wrote.

Back to eating beetles and crickets. Why would you want to squash a beetle first, then ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

Thanks for the anthrolopology lesson. The beetles I suspose I should have known one could eat. People eat crickets also. I remember when I saw Mundo Cane as an adolescent. Quite revealing what they do/did in other parts of the world. Are there cultures that eat vomit also?

I've been exploring. Can ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

On top of the tree type PUSH LEAVES .

Hadn't tried pushing leaves. Cutting, and moving, yes, but not pushing.

SQUASH the beetle to be able to eat it .

Since I am long past the age (and the wrong gender too) to enjoy this type of humour, this is more than revolting.

I'm glad I did not run out ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

Yes, I had tried "fixing" the object I had found. So I got past the gorgon and the dragon.

It's one of those games where you have to die in order to know what to do.

Didn't find a coconut and what to do with the beetle.

Ok - I'll make my way to the fishermen now.

I'm having some difficulty here ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

Potcheen was in neither of my two dictionaries. Thanks for the answer.

And the cryptogram. I thought of "romance" which was close enough, I guess.

you don't need an object to pass the gorgon. Just don't wake her up

Ok, I'll try and figure out how.

You need an object to kill the dragon which ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

So far I have two treasures, the chalice and the book.

I presume the monster you wake up is where you drop the treasures.

Stumbling blocks:

the gorgon, the dragon, entering the city, the coloured bird. the equine monster (though I got the hint, but cannot solve the last word). However, I lucked ...

Re: Mystery voyage C64

Having found this game without undue difficulty, and managed to load and open it, I am game to play. You have no idea how happy this makes me. So far I am mapping, finding objects and trying to determine what I need where. Seems like a game I should be able to manage - objects and where to use them ...
