Re: Ebony Tower - BBC

So far I have a lamp, a pole, some food, a bottle, a crucifix, lead, ancient book, a flute, a green crystal.

I've been given the messages by the Dwarves, the pixies, and the hobgoblins.

I see a trapdoor in the tower, but can't get up there.

I know how to use the flute but haven't used it yet ...

alien from outer space - BBC

Any takers/helpers on this game?

Available on Stairway to Hell.

I don't usually play sci-fi games, since they are so "technical" in nature. This one doesn't seem so bad. However there seem to be some random elements (who you meet where and when). This tends to drive me batty.

It seems you need to ...

Thanks for finishing this. It's been on my "unsolved" list for some time. I will gladly hit the "delete" button.

Re: Trinity - anyone want to join in?

I found the box. It is old - contains big and small floppies, no CD.

It doesn't contain Trinity, plus a few other games. It's not the sequel (Infocom II). There is a manual and a hint book. So maybe these were not the "good" games. The date on the box is 1991. I was so new to gaming then, I suppose ...

playing games on a mac

I have a friend who has a Mac computer. She likes to play games, so I thought I would introduce her to more interactive-type fiction games.

However, I haven't the foggiest idea about what games she can play. Do I just point to her to a site that has apple games? Does she need an emulator? And any ...

There are a few other objects to find here.

In the library, wait until a woman arrives. Then examine something.

I understand and will be patient. Right now I am playtesting Larry's game, so I am occupied as well.

atahaulpa (BBC)

Hi folks.

Iamaran and I are played the other game written by Anthony Lee (see Annabel Gray).

Not quite the ambience, but close enough.

We got the arrowhead, shovel, the book, the cane. We got in the balloon, outwitted the stranger, made and threw the spear and the sandbags, pulled the valve ...

Re: Paul's 4k Adventure - coder's help needed (again)

Thanks, Dave. I learned something today. Some things are not truly "random". If random depends on something, then is it truly random?

One of those philosphical, rhetorical questions, that, as they be wont to be, will be laid to rest, without further ado, by me. Such imponderables are best done in ...

Re: Paul's 4k Adventure - coder's help needed (again)

Not that I understand one whit what you folks are referring to, I recall playing some games, where the outcome was the same if you "saved" just previous to starting that sequence, but with others it truly was random.

Does it matter "when" the randomness is set to start?

Re: annabel gray - BBC game

I am finished. You only meet Whitney once, so I had to make sure I had everything to give him.

Solution (from both of us) is being sent.

Just a few hints.

Re: annabel gray - BBC game

Yes, I presume you need to sell the cotton to Whitney, but where do I find him? Keep waiting at the steps? Or somewhere else?

Yes I have something to wear to the party.

To whom does one show/give the burnt slip of paper?

Re: annabel gray - BBC game

I've made some progress. At Villefranche you need to climb inside the window.
I've freed Aaron. I've got lots of cotton. I got the carriage moved. I've gotten past the locked door.

But now I don't know what to do.

Once you scare the guard away, he does not return.
