Re: lone brave

Sorry - I've tried all combinations of routes to the canyon from the pool - with or without the horse. I still die of exhaustion.

How did you manage it?

Doreen
Without the horse go NW and N from the pool of water you create in the desert.

As for not using the horse in the desert, I assume there ...

Doreen,
leave the horse at the pool in the desert, then walk to the canyon.

The horse shies at several places in the desert, and always dumps you on the path with the W and S locations, north of the frequently used path.
I know the areas you mean, but if you look at the map you will see that you are moving on to the rocky outcrop south of the mountain lion cave. The scent ...

An Indian Brave without a knife! What are you thinking of? (That's a "you'd better keep it" by the way.)

Think of all the ways to make fire, keeping in mind your possessions - it's another "verb noun WITH noun". Your next step is to make the fire last - guess what, that's another "verb noun WITH ...

Doreen,
the green eyes are beyond the large cave on the other side of the river - if you cannot cross the river, explore the forest where some trees are broken.

As for the bear, treat it the same as the first mountain lion.

Terri, excuse me as I mess your post around.

Where the horse shies? Presumably one needs to search around this area, but nothing I tried works. Or is it just that he senses an animal.
I think the horse is only required for the desert, and yes, he does shy away from dangerous animals.

Not sure ...

Doreen,
it should work. First, make sure 'BBCode' is on - you will have to go to 'Profile' to change this. Then you just highlight the text you want to alter, change the font colour, and use preview to check that it appears as you wish.

Terri,
Doreen has given the answer, keep in mind that it seems ...

I would like to know some background to this game. SCORE tells us the objective, which is always useful to know. I suspect that the Lone Brave of the title is among the most adept of his tribe, which is why his people sent him on the quest, it also means that he is quite skilful, skilled enough to ...

Terri, if you are going to recommend Peneless, at least point Darius to the version of Peneless that works!

Darius, the version of Peneless can be solved may be found on the "Peneless + Toot 'n' Come in" compilation tape available here:

I have yet to get as far as either of you, but here are a few things I have found.

First, TEXT turns the graphics off which is useful for those locations where the description scrolls under the picture, and GRAPHICS turns the graphics back on again.

Next the horse problem, you need to use DRIVE ...

Here's a slight modification of the idea, giving an indication of where the hidden text is located.

I am repeating the test to see what it looks like on a blue background.

This is a little test with respect to clue giving.

FOR THIS PART THE TEXT COLOUR HAS BEEN SET TO WHITE.

If this works then the hidden text will either be invisible or very difficult to see. Select all the text in this post ...

Would those be the maps on IF-Legends.org? They've changed their site as well as their server. You can contact them here http://www.if-legends.org/scripts/contact.php . With luck, they may still have copies of the maps.
