Re: Genre Suggestions
And why can't we have one genre for "competition", instead of the dozens that we've got now? But I'd also like to sort by a specific competition, not just some wishy-washy genre like "Speed IF" or "Grand Prix". There are lots of competitions that don't fit in with any of the existing competition ...

"The Classic Adventurer" magazine
I cannot recall reading about this at CASA but on trying to find out more about SpecSoft (as an aside, follow the link for some great news about some games that were thought lost until about a week ago) I came across a publication called The Classic Adventurer . This is a magazine about classic ...

Re: World of spectum and tipshop
Welcome back Zenobifan.
My question is are the World of Spectrum and the Tipshop sites still operating as I just tried them and couldn't load Tipshop and although got World of Spectrum home page accessing anything else was incredibly slow or didn't load. I tried a search on here on the forums and ...

Thanks Strident, I now know to pester Jacob about this bug. Let's just hope that the fix goes better than the last time I reported an error message bug...

A question for everyone who has recently submitted information to CASA
I am trying to find out if there is a (minor) bug in how CASA treats submissions by anyone who uses the "Send update" button, which is why I would like anyone who has recently used that button to reply to this thread - otherwise it may be a bug that just affects me, or maybe just those with admin ...

Garry, it would appear that the person mentioning torrents was a spammer. I've deleted that post which is why it now appears that you are answering thin air.

Re: Google adventure
It works with www.google.co.uk, perhaps it's restricted to the English language Google sites.Gunness wrote: Wed Sep 26, 2018 9:14 pm Yes, Google.com (though it redirects me to our localized version - maybe that's the culprit). Looking in the dev console, and there's nothing happening. Oh well...

Re: Google adventure
An interesting find, unless you were told I can't imagine how you found it.
For the record, with SeaMonkey I had better success using the "Chrome method" rather than the "Firefox" one, despite SeaMonkey having a Mozilla browser. (It probably goes without saying that I also had to disable both ...

Re: Genre Suggestions
Jacob, I was thinking about games in which you have been imprisoned which would rule out the various Alice in Wonderland games (unless it is a game where the Queen of Hearts has had you imprisoned and you win by escaping that imprisonment) and crash-landed games (again unless you were imprisoned and ...

Re: Genre Suggestions
I'm resurrecting this thread to ask one question - is there any objection to me creating an "Escape" genre? Note that this is for games where the sole object (winning condition) is to escape and not for those games where one or more situations require you to escape before you can proceed further (so ...

Re: Please delete Evil Crypt - not an adventure
These games may be RPGs but do they contain any adventure game type puzzles? There has been some discussion elsewhere on the board about which games CASA should include - with as yet no definitive conclusion on the matter - but if any of the above games do not contain even the simplest of adventure ...

Re: Help loading a game
Quantum,
I've never used Zesarux, would you post links to both the emulator and the game you are trying to play? We may then be able to work out how to get it to work properly.

Re: Advice asked about a Sinclair ql emulator
Keetie,
I have no experience using any QL emulator but I have found a page (http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/emu/index.html) which lists and gives an overview of a number of emulators. Not knowing which emulators you have tried, it is a little difficult to know if the page lists any emulator that is new to ...

Re: Out of Date Emulator Links
There doesn't seem to be an easy way to find out which platforms have starting guides.
Putting in to Google reveals six platforms with starting guides. Are there any more?
