Re: New site name?

The most important thing is to keep the Classic Adventures part, since the site doesn't do very much modern IF
Just concerning this: To me, any primarily text-based adventure game is a 'classic' adventure. The time it was released does not even come into it, it's all about the style which is ...

Re: New site name?

1. People seem to agree that "solutionarchive.com" is a good domain name, and it's not part of the name you suggest.
These are two observations, but they don't combine into a clear objection. So I feel I have to ask: So?
I made a comment about this in a previous post. It seems to be fairly ...

Re: New site name?

Talking about logo ideas, what about a house, visually cut open to reveal a winding path/twisty little passages inside and probably a guy following such a passage holding a lantern?

As for the URL, there is no need to abandon the current domain name even if you get a new one as the preferred ...

Name ist Schall und Rauch
-- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: Faust - Eine Tragoedie

13 years ago, we went with the second option on another site I was involved with (finding a new name fitting the established acronym). That went pretty well.

I think that's a good point – the intention and the intended target audience.

Re: M25!

Looking at the description, the screenshot and the solution, I'd say "Adventure" is by far the best genre classification you can give to this piece of software (under the premise of calling it a game). The player is presented with a location description and a command prompt. Inputs are passed to and ...

Announcing "Bloodless on the Orient Express"

Ladies and Gedderbong...

I would like to announce my new games Bloodless on the Orient Express (playable with any Z-Code interpreter). It is part of a small competition of ultra-short games written in three hours or less. You can find the other games here .

Give it a try - being written in three ...

IF Comp 2011

38 new games have been posted . In case you haven't followed IF Comp in the last ten years or so, the games are often snack-sized and usually quite easy. The first one I tried ( Keepsake ) was in line with this expectation (for better or worse), but it had an interesting narration technique at least ...
