CASA News RSS feed?

(I hope I'm posting this in the good forum section: I don't know what's the difference between "Site feedback & announcements" and "CASA 2.0", now that the site is CASA 2.0...) Is there an RSS feed for the "News" from the main page of the CASA site? I can't see it, at least... Also, if there is (or ...

Re: BASIC detokenisers

Well, I don't think I'll use them, but I can't see why I couldn't have them on my hard disk or on a USB key (unless they're above one or two gigabytes, but it'd be surprising). You can send them to me with PM.

Re: Starting guides for various platforms

Here's my little attempt for an Amstrad CPC guide. It's probably not very well-written, though... RUNNING A TEXT ADVENTURE GAME ON AMSTRAD CPC WITH AN EMULATOR: * For almost all games, choose the CPC 6128 model. A few very rare early (not later than 1985) adventures don't work on that model but only...

IFDB Poll - Solved without Hints

There's currently an IFDB poll which made me think about the members of this forum. It asks if there are text adventure games -- relatively difficult ones, not modern puzzleless IF finished in half an hour! -- we solved completely without hints or solutions of any kind. Personally, I must say I can'...

Re: New site - bug reports

Well, computers are wrong, then.

But as I said, it's a very minor problem, especially since there aren't that many game titles with accents anyway, because most of the games are in English. Don't worry about it if it's difficult to fix or if it would slow down the site!

Do "authors" include illustrators and musicians?

In the help page, there's this: Authors : writers / programmers of the original game. People merely converting the game to another platform are not included But it doesn't say if we should list the authors of graphics, music or sounds in the original games (when they're not the same people as the wr...

Re: New site - bug reports

A very minor bug, but I thought I'd report it anyway: it seems that letters with accents aren't sorted correctly. For instance, in the list of games in French, Bête du Gévaudan, La is sorted before Baratin blues, although the "a" should be before the "ê".

I agree with this idea! :thumb: (I don't know if you remember, Gunness, but I had made basically the same suggestion in a PM I sent you some time ago.)

Mr Creosote wrote:The "-" option can always be found in the last "company" dropdown box. If you want to apply it on a game which already has a company attached to it, you have to select it in the second one.
Thank you! I hadn't noticed.

Re: New site - bug reports

The language field and the "- (use author only)" option in the company field are great new features! :thumb: But there seems to be a bug with the latter. I wanted to edit the Adult 1 page (but I guess it could have been any page which had already the author in both author and company fields -- at le...

Re: Mines of Saturn, early adventure for the Spectrum 16K

The instructions clear up why the game seemed to be "bugged" Well, I still think it was bugged, even if it's possible to win. With the random numbers which aren't actually random, the first two games will always be lost: I don't think it was intended! Or if it was, it's terrible game design... and ...

Re: Mines of Saturn, early adventure for the Spectrum 16K

Well, terri, do you want to write an e-mail to World of Spectrum, so that they know which versions of these two games are bugged? They could put warnings on the site, or even remove the bugged versions: that would help other players!
