A classic-style adventure ported

Hi all,

Thought this project might interest some folks around here. A friend of mine recently ported an old school text adventure we wrote for the C64 to the Z-machine. This means it's a little easier to run it. You need to get a Z-code interpreter for your platform, and this terp needs to handle Z ...

I actually intended to have a closer look at ACE, but to see the manual or see the source code of the example game, I had to run an exe file! Considering the virus threat on the net these days, I just can't take that risk unless it comes from a trusted source and is something I *really* want to use ...

8-bit Adventure World is back on the net

Hi all,

Due to a friend moving from his house, I suddenly lost hosting for my sites. Now, they're back on the net, hopefully to stay. That means you can once again have a look at and download some of the games discussed here. The database currently holds 300 games, but I'm looking for a way to make ...

Several people wanted to join in but mailed Jacob to say they couldn't make it. However, Jacob and I played and chatted for a few hours and had a great time. Zinc seems to have a problem running Zcode games, especially version 5 and 8 - it pauses for ten seconds after each input before it draws the ...

I suggest Wednesday 23 Feb at 20.00 CET (GMT + 1).

I suggest YAGWAD or The Dreamhold.

YAGWAD is short for Yes, Another Game With A Dragon! and seems to be a well-written, funny fantasy/parody game. More info and downloads: http://www.wurb.com/if/game/917 (be sure to get the latest release!)

The ...

The requirements are quite low, so that shouldn't be a problem. Let me know when you plan to host a session and I'll join in!

Here are the rewards for WW recorded at Baf's guide:

Finalist, Best Setting, Xyzzy Awards 1999
1st place, rec.arts.int-fiction competition 1999

(Finalist in XYZZY Awards isn't really a reward, but it's about the same as being a nominee for an Academy Award)

Anyone for a Zinc session?

This isn't strictly about wanting to play a certain game, but it's definitely about wanting to play an adventure game cooperatively, so this seems to be the right forum.

Heard about Zinc? This freeware multiplayer IF interpreter is simply put a revolution for cooperative playing of text adventures ...

Good games without solutions

So it seems hard to find such great games without a solution.

Actually, there are quite a few. Here are some really good games which I haven't been able to find a solution for:
