Holy Horrors

Along with Andrew Teague, I've been stuck in this BBC game forever. Has anyone played it? Specifically I'd like to know what to do in the passage under the moat.

Hi Amby,
I've answered your question in "The Modern Era". It really is a silly command you need to use!

Usurper: Mines of Qyntarr

In order to light the lighter, you must
LIGHT LIGHTER WITH HAND [three times, no less]

I admit, stupid command, but there it is

Survey results so far

Only 19 people have participated so far, but here are the first results of the survey. Seems we're almost all ageing, European males in here :) Don't fret, though - there's room for everybody.
The survey is a bit primitive, so the only way of issue the results are via cut'n'paste:

What year did ...

Is there a way for us to view the survey results?
Unfortunately, as I'm using a free poll its options are somewhat limited. Hence it's only possible for the users to see the results just after they've submitted their data. I'll work out a way to publish those data a.s.a.p.

What I can say, though ...

Survey!

I've created a survey for CASA in order to learn a little more about how you use the site. I'd be grateful if you'd all spend a few minutes on it :)

Thanks!

Advanced Dungeons and Dragons? All dumb and dumber?
I have a hunch that your second guess would be right :D

I know they're not straight text adventures, but neither are games like Zak McKraken or Murder on the Mississippi.
So I guess those SSI titles have just the right amount of adventurousness to warrant inclusion in the archive ;)

Hi Mark, I can't help so don't get your hopes up just yet :)
Just wanted to say thanks for the many terrific maps you've made over the years. Maybe posting an incomplete version of a DKoK solution will get somebody on the right track?

By the way, did you ever finish Curse of the Azure Bonds? I ...

The main site has moved

.... so now it resides right here with the forum at solutionarchive.com - hey, that's what that silly new logo is about ;)
The contents are pretty much the same but the site should look a tad better.

I just want to second Fredrik's opinion here. Technical problems aside, this was really a terrific way of playing adventure games - more fun than playing on your own. So go ahead and try it some time!

Zinc session on WEDNESDAY (23rd)

Hello everybody,
I will be hosting a session on Zinc this Wednesday at 20.00 CET (that's Central European Time to you North Americans)

To make a long story short, Zinc allows players to play an adventure game together over the internet while chatting and exchanging ideas. Should be fun!

Zinc can ...

That's why we should be playing the other game :)
Seriously, even if we decide to play YAGWAD, I trust that everybody has enough backbone to ignore any such solution and just play to the best of his/her ability

I suggest Wednesday 23 Feb at 20.00 CET (GMT + 1).

The Dreamhold was written with newbies in mind - it tries to help the player as soon as he/she seems to need it.

The Dreamhold is a nominee for several XYZZY Awards, among them Best Game, Best Writing and Best Story.

Sounds like a excellent ...

Feedback needed ;)

Hi everybody,
the forum has been running for a bit now, and I thought it would be nice to know what you think of it.

From the start, I've been fairly restrictive: people have to register, and I have forced (more or less) people to post on specific boards (Want to play, Classics, Modern etc.). My ...
