Closing this part of the forum

Hi people,
I've decided to close this part of the forum. When I started it, it seemed like a good idea. But the way things have turned out, it's just a waste of people's time to force them to post twice for every game.
So from now, just go to the appropriate section (usually Classics) and start a ...

On the caterpillar. Another red herring: it's the only opponent whose body is left behind once you win over it. Spent lots of time trying to do something with it.

Thanks Terri, this was definitely needed. After running around saying FIRIEN in all 50 locations, the fun was starting to wear a bit thin. I hadn't considered reversing the word.
I had figured the words in the tower out, but needed the right item.

Anyway, I'll try to finish the game and map now ...

Yeah, I wanted to keep a cheat private in order not to ruin the game for anyone who wanted to play things "straight" :?

The can doesn't work with the spider, but with another opponent.

I don't think there is a lamp - the staff seems to provide ample light.

I do think that your combat abilities ...

I hate to think that all the *good* games have already been solved and that all that remain are the games that can't be solved due to errors/bugs or unfathomable GTV.

Well, there's no denying that a nice big, fat share of the best titles are covered already. No more Infocom, Level 9, or Magnetic ...

For anyone interested, I've created a map of the part I've covered so far:

Terri, have you had any chance getting rid of the frog yet? I've managed the caterpillar in the swamp area, but not the spider, however, the latter only appears at ...

I was always running a couple of steps behind on Valley of the Kings, so I'll try to join from the start on this one. Where can I find the game?

I've contacted Stairway to Hell to hear if they know of a better version.
Meanwhile, since everybody is gathered now, how about trying a different game from MP software? I thought Sadim Castle was rather enjoyable.

Valley of the Kings and Woodland Terror seem to be in the same format, the latter is ...

Ah.... methinks you need an item to make the grebe talk to you :) Then you'll experience this bug.

Itype MAKE TWO PAIRS, then go back to the dragon and GIVE BOOTS.

Argh! I had tried every conceivable variation of "TWO BOOTS", "2 BOOTS", "MAKE BOOTS", "TWO PAIRS", and what have you. Bloody stupid parser! Nice to know the right command at last.
I suggest we press on for a bit further, to see if ...

Crown of Mardan (BBC)

Terri and I are seriously stuck on this game, so please consider joining in. I can send you a partial map of the game, if you feel like it.
Read more in the classics section.

Thanks! :D

1. Yes, you need the jacket by the basket. I just never noticed.
2. I already talked to the bat, but I'm sure the grebe also has something important to say.

You didn't have any luck with the white dragon?

Apart from that, we're stuck in the same spots. So please, someone else - help us!
