Re: Paul's 4k Adventure - coder's help needed (again)
The odds of you winning a fight seem a bit poor: you have a 3 in 5 chance of scoring a hit, for either 6-11, 12-25 or 18-30 points of damage, which with 294 enemy hits will take a while. The enemy, on the other hand has a 2 in 5 chance of scoring a hit for either 6-11 or 88 - 120 points of damage ...

The code looks to be fine:

Re: About the platforms/Japanese games
Okay; I've added CP/M as a platform, currently only for Barsoom Adventure #1: The Lost City which replaced Adam.
My logic behind this (after doing some research) is the CP/M was an alternative OS for computers with a Zilog Z80 or an Intel 8080 (the Z80 is virtually compatible with the 8080) where ...

Re: Any French Speakers on here?
Does anyone know what BASIC variants use LOCATE <row>, <column>? Or does anyone know (it must exist somewhere!) of a good site comparing all the old BASIC variants, where we could find that kind of info?
It looks like LOCATE row, column is advanced Microsoft BASIC - it even carried through to GW ...

Re: About the platforms/Japanese games
Multi-platform OSes (e.g. CP/M or Unix) are always going to cause a problem with the platform and we do have some precedence where this has happened before (e.g. Unix or Mainframe). IIRC CP/M will run on any Z80 machine (I remember using it on Torch at school many years ago).

Re: Any French Speakers on here?
Oooh, Sorcellerie :D -- I discovered text adventures thanks to this game! Actually, I didn't play it myself, but someone I knew played it on a computer at school (a Thomson, not a Matra Alice; I'm not sure I had ever heard about the Matra Alice myself, either! ) and that's how he got a ...

Re: About the platforms/Japanese games
when looking at the Coleco Adam games list I noticed it contained Infocom adventures, I was wondering if these are genuine platform specific releases or just the CP/M versions runable on the computer. What is the site's policy regarding this and unofficial conversions (common on the C16/Plus 4 for ...

Re: Any French Speakers on here?
It always amazes me at how the Dutch are so good at being polyglots.
I've deleted Sphinx d'or, Le and we can update the others when you return from your real-life adventure! Thanks for your help!

Re: Any French Speakers on here?
4K is a lot. The Dragon and the Troll is about 2K worth of C64 Basic code. So is Mickey & the Blot, which you can find on Gamebase 64.
I was going from generics; for example the rewrite I did of the SAGA game system in 6502 is around 3K (though 1/2K is due to uncompressed system messages), with ...

Re: Duplicate Entries
That picture probably clinches it (I didn't think to actually play the game - that would've been too sensible)!
Before I edit, we think that the publisher is Alfo Software and the author is Ad Lomer (is it A. D. Lomer or Ad. Lomer)?

Fixed Winter Wonderland and YAGWAD .
A strong possibility:

CASA elsewhere
I drive past this place a lot and just thought people'd find the signage amusing...

Re: Any French Speakers on here?
I've uploaded screenshots for three of the four games, and they look positively adventure-like to me. The fourth one, La Caverne des Morlocks, looks a little more shaky . I have a hunch that it might simply be a multiple-choice game.
That's what it looked like from the screenshots, but I stopped ...
