Re: Steve W. Lucas games
I just played and solved Snow White. Very easy and only a few puzzles. The book says it's for kids. The game has a lot of objects but they are not used. Which is a pity because sailing to the island could have been made for instance more interesting if you first had to repair your boat. Also you are...

Re: Steve W. Lucas games
How to save a file to an MSX tape using Blue MSX: *First you must make an empty tape file. -Press left CTRL +F11 -Type a file name which does not exist in the folder and open it. You have now created a new empty .cas file. *save the game to the .CAS file -load the file you want to save to the tape f...

Re: Steve W. Lucas games
I checked the game using a tape file. If you start the emulator without diskdrives (the text should say 28815 Bytes free) and you load the game from a tape CLEAR 7000 works well. If you don't know how to do this I can help you if you like. I can do it for you or explain it to you depending which emu...

Re: Steve W. Lucas games
I've typed in all three games from the MSX Adventure Programming book. If it's an MSX game you don't have to type in the listing on an emulator. A faster method is: -Copy and paste the code from the pdf to a new txt file. -Check if everything is correct (normally you will have to fix some strange c...

Re: Steve W. Lucas games
Oh, crap! I spoke too soon. I just got an 'Out of string space in 2890' error. It looks like it won't work with disk. I'll have to save it to a cassette image and try it from that. Any MSX experts out there? A bit late maybe but maybe I can help if you still have problems. MSX (and c64) are the com...

Re: Twine games?
I would put the question to you another way. Does the choice-based community use CASA? Will the choice-based community maintain the database of choice-based games? Will the choice-based community submit solutions to choice-based games? If the answer to these questions is 'no', then choice-based gam...

Re: Twine games?
First of all, I don't know what a Twine game is, but what I read from your comments, these don't seem very interesting to me. I was never very interested in the modern adventures with a lot of text and just a few puzzles (more like reading a book with a few interactions). A lot of people talk about ...

Re: Toot 'n' Come In -zx spectrum
I've uploaded some hints in the form of a partial walkthrough on how to solve the other puzzles. Hopefully someone can solve the remaining puzzles and we can write a complete solution.

Re: Toot 'n' Come In -zx spectrum
Today I advanced a lot. I only have to solve 6 more problems in order to complete the game. However I have no idea how to solve them so if anyone likes to try this game I can give help with solving the other puzlles if needed. Last puzzels to solve: -How to prevent your lantern from extinguishing wh...

Re: Toot 'n' Come In -zx spectrum
I've no idea how to reach the locations on the left side of the map that is where you can find the stairs to the control room. Just learned how to reach the stairs to the control room :) -How to get rid of the slime? -How to prevent the big rock crushing down on you (west of the carved passage)? -W...

Re: Toot 'n' Come In -zx spectrum
Here is an incomplete version of the map as far as I managed to make it. I've no idea how to reach the locations on the left side of the map that is where you can find the stairs to the control room. I did find the exit location and did manage to solve the end puzzle (passing the stone guardian and ...

Re: Toot 'n' Come In -zx spectrum
This one is quite hard. Being completely stuck I made an incomplete map. Scoring points is achieved by visiting certain locations on the map. I managed to get 92%. I solved some more puzzles but I have still a lot of questions to answer before this game will be completed. There are only a few object...

Re: Toot 'n' Come In -zx spectrum
The most up-to-date version of Toot will be the one that Jim put out on the B-side of Peneless... https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/13167/ZX-Spectrum/Peneless_Toot_n_Come_in That should technically be the least bug-free version of the game. Thanks, that one seems better! At least SCORE does wor...

Toot 'n' Come In -zx spectrum
Anyone tried to play Toot 'n' Come In? It seems a bit buggy. SCORE for instance gives a lot of garbage. I solved some puzzles, but I'm stuck on the following problems: -How to get rid of the slime? -How to prevent the big rock crushing down on you (west of the carved passage)? -How to climb down the...
