The keys unlock the dressing room doors after the phantom has locked you in. The tiepin may do the same but this also unlocks the door at the bottom of the trapdoor which is locked if you go there first.
If you listen at the intercom the phantom gives you a message. If you listen a second time he ...

OK, I have had another bash on Opera House without much success. I have even looked at the code (which I hate doing) but haven't gleaned any solutions from that. What I have discovered though:
The switch that controls the organ also controls the trapdoor.
When you go in the sewer, out the trapdoor ...

OK finished QA. You need to get in the hunting pit to get a ring, one of the treasures. I will write out a solution and send in to Jacob. Juan, do you want to PM me your surname or nickname etc and I will put you on the solution too. Just Opera House to finish now.

Early on before you climb the tree you can prod path. If you tie the rope to the tree you can get in and get a ring and a broken stake. You can also get past the pit after.

You have made better progress than I. I had managed to sort the lizard, use the disc, get past the snake but now I can't get across the stream or get past the guardian on the steps. Can you give me some hints to catch up?
Early on in the game you can tie the rope to the tree before you climb it. I ...

I have tried QA for a bit, to give my brain a rest from Opera. Have made considerable progress thanks to your suggestion about the rope. Here are my discoveries:
Dig on beach to find machete
Cut vine with machete to get it. Haven't found a use for it yet.
Cut hanging vines with machete to discover ...

OK I have mapped and explored Opera House. I have a number of questions:
1. How do you pour the chloroform on the cottonwool without knocking yourself out? If you need the gasmask for this then see number 2.
2. I cannot get out of the trapdoor. If I climb I get to the trees but if I go down I just ...

OK finally got the emulator working. Thanks for the help Juan, your PM was spot on and sorted the missing ROMs. I haven't explored either of these to the full yet but I have made a few discoveries. I have found the bunch of keys; they are in the tiny office under the invoice. Haven't used them yet ...

I don't know if I'm just being an arse but I can't get Atari800win to work. I have downloaded the program and the XF25 program. I have copied the ROMs from XF25 into the Atari800win Rom file and have selected each for the operating systems. However it still comes up with an "ROM load error" message ...

Juan,
I have very little experience of Atari emulation and text adventures on them. However, if you can recommend an emulator and tell me how to download the game then I am happy to have a go.

BBC game of old

I have a very vague recollection of a text adventure game for the BBC. You approach a castle or a mansion at the start and you have to remove a brick from the surrounding wall to reveal a rusty lever which opens the gate when pulled. That is about all I can remember. Does anyone know what it was ...

Just type "get label" when you are in the same room as ZED and you will get the label with "REJECT NO ZIP" written on it. This can be used to "Stick button with label". I have written up a walkthrough with all our names on it (Alastair, Dave, Doreen, Terri and me). Would you like me to submit it to ...

Ok, got the tape recorder and accessed the lift. Have got to "the end of the catwalk. A huge vault-likt door is west".
There is a panel here that you open using the doctors key and an alphapad asking for today's password. Any clues?

Ok that helps a lot thanks. I have been back to the start and you can get into the other sex's changing room after coming up from the manhole. We would have been chasing our tails for months without your tip, thank you. Haven't had the chance to trial the datacorder yet though.

if you do something obvious with the second object you mention around the northely end of the outside of the house, you can get in a different way, which will open that door.
We have waved the wand at the clearing and accessed the inside of the mansion as Pierre the housekeeper. He puts the cards ...
