Re: Granny's Place

The missing entries for some verbs i.e. PUSH appear to run across all of Dian / Charles Crayne's text adventures. The others all seem finishable although I couldn't find one treasure in Monster Rally.

Re: Excalibur by Jim Macbrayne 1983

I will check my backups. I must still have it somewhere. I know setting up the workbenches on the emulator was a colossal pain in the behind. Amiga emulators are very intricate in my experience. Even RPCEmu for RISC and my HP3000 emulator were easier to get up and functioning.

Re: Excalibur by Jim Macbrayne 1983

There is an Amiga version of the game which Jim reliably informs me is bug free. He sent it to me some time ago but I haven't had the opportunity to set up an Amiga emulator to test it.

Re: Recovered Adventures

To be honest I haven't had much time to try it recently. I hope to in the near future. There is a definite dearth of unique Apple pure text offerings if you discount Éamon games and those with graphics so I like to try the ones that do exist.

Re: Search for the Lost Orb

No problem. Fuzzell and I had a lot of fun with this back in the day. It is obviously of a professional quality, reminding me of a Phoenix / Derek Haslam hybrid kind of game.

Re: Search for the Lost Orb

I finished this and put a map up on CASA if that's any help. I have a feeling the tentacled creature doesn't need solving.

Re: Hezarin

I am deep into Acheton; another game I abandoned years ago but decided to determinedly essay a completion of this time. I am slowly getting there with seventy odd saved game states. When they are this big choreographing the manifold regions of the game in the correct sequence is at least as difficul...

Re: Hezarin

I put my completed map of Hezarin up on CASA recently. I am proud to say that I only used the first level of hints four times. There are I think 233 of the blighters. I made it 402 locations in size which would make it 1 room smaller than Acheton. It only took me 25 years on and off. Now that is wha...

Re: Hezarin

The MS-DOS version of Hezarin (the mainframe version was lost) seems surprisingly buggy. I have emailed a number of these to Adam Atkinson who was surprised too. Several errors caused the game to terminate back to the command prompt.

This is via DosBox-X.

Re: AdventP (Or Adventure 500) From 1979 Now Listed On CASA

It does appear the the game was going to be increased in size by the author as in one particular area you move through a door and are greeted with the legend: "Colossal Cavern is under construction in this area. Please return to this location at a later date for interesting Adventures." It is howeve...

AdventP (Or Adventure 500) From 1979 Now Listed On CASA

Hello All. The admininstrators have accepted the above game by George Richmond to the CASA database. If you liked the original Advent from 1976 but thought all spin-offs were too similar this is now available. Trust me it is very much its own game. It is very large and many of the puzzles are origin...

Re: Cornucopia

Surely the very fact that you couldn't play the game normally without disecting it like an anatomical specimen (which surely runs counter to the point of the game in the first place) merely proves my point?

Re: Cornucopia

I disagree. An open bag should be fillable. I have played hundreds of games and rarely seen such shoddiness. Similarly the room with the basin full of water and an open bottle. Fill bottle? No. Take water? Nah. Fill bottle with water? This game contains more head banging than a year's subscription t...
