Called "Cluches of the Balrog" on the title screen (the Balrog in question being John "The Balrog" Wilson of Zenobi Software).
Not suitable for children, due to mild sexual content and innuendo, this adventure was written by Sonia Griffiths-Glover (for her friends in the adventure game community) as a way of learning how to use The Quill.

As the author of this game I should explain that the Balrog in question was a nodding reference to the Balrog and Cat games produced by John Wilson at Zenobi software. The Clutches of the Balrog was intended as the beginning of a one room only series of cliff hanger adventures in the style of the silent movie series called The Perils of Pauline. Each episode produced and sent out monthly or six weekly.
As the founder of H.A.L.A. (Hints Archive for Lost Adventurers) I was in close correspondence with many of the producers and players of Speccy games as well as articles writers for "your sinclair" and other mags as I did the same service that CASA does now only by snail mail and telephone as the internet was yet to be a household thing.
