The VZ200 was launched in late 1983 as a compatitor to the Spectrum. It was initally created by Hong Kong-based VTech and sold under the name VTech Laser 200. It was marketed under various titles around the world, such as Salora Fellow (Scandinavia), the Texet TX8000 (in the United Kingdom) and the Dick Smith VZ200 (in Australia, where it gained its largest market).
