It's 1934, and you're Sam Harlow, private eye. Nice guy, but somebody wants you dead. You must discover who is trying to murder you, collect the appropriate evidence and bring it to the police, while avoiding constant attempts on your life.
Notes
When the game was re-released by Mastertronic, it was renamed Time to Die (for reasons unknown).
One of my favorites on the C64 and arguably the best 8-bit hard-boiled detective (adventure) game. Atmospheric with great graphics (which were fast). Starts quite action-filled where you have to escape from your own office. Then the game is about finding out who wants you dead by finding clues, talking to people, solving problems and staying alive. Only annoying thing I can remember was that you were shot dead if you progressed too slow - but I guess that's what save/restore was for. :) Well worth spending a Sunday afternoon in front of, if you like your hard-boiled books/films/genre.
