You are in a dark forest and you can see trees for miles. As the night falls, you can see the will 'o' the wisps dancing in the distance. You are in search of Drown, the leader of the gray elves. Drown was captured by the dark elves four months ago, along with his staff of drow winds.
You were hired by the gray elves to find Drown and his staff but nothing else is known about your quest, except that the entrance of the dark elf caves lies in this forest.
This game was written using the Tex-Comp Adventure Editor and the data file saved in the Scott Adams TI-99/4A adventure format. It can be run on the TI-99/4A using the Scott Adams' Adventure cartridge or the data file can be extracted as a fiad format file and played on any platform that supports the Bunyon adventure interpreter.
This is subtitled 'Venture Games #1', but no other games are known in the series.
The game was produced by John Stephens of Downey, California. No firm date of release is currently known, but the game was reviewed in Mickey Scmitt's The Adventure Reference Guide, released by Asgard Publishing in 1989; so 1989 has been temporarily added as the latest possible release date.
The game was praised for its storytelling by Mickey, but criticised for its spelling. Writing later, in a 2017 forum thread, John Stephens the author said:
He was actually right. I couldn't spell worth a darn (especially at 11) hell I still can't. But when I wrote the game I did try to be as descriptive as possible. Just like Infocom games which I dearly loved.
