An American archaeologist surprisingly finds himself on Wenceslas Square in Prague during Palach's Week - a series of anti-regime demonstrations that were brutally suppressed by members of the Public Security and People's Militia. Indiana Jones has to break through the square and go to the airport, which is not easy at all, because bloodthirsty police and militiamen are waiting at every step. This extremely violent game allows the player to experience the trauma of Palach's week from the point of view of an action hero who, unlike real demonstrators, could defend himself.
Originally released in 1989 for the ZX Spectrum, the true identity of the game's original author is unknown.
The game was remade, for the web, in 2019 for the November 1989: The Road to Democracy exhibition, organized by the Institute of Contemporary History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The conversion was produced by Jaroslav Švelch and Martin Kouba. It featured new graphics by Jana “Yuffie” Kilianová. It can be played here.
The remake was also translated to English.
