Within the glow of the green gas lanterns, I entered the petting zoo and scanned for my ten o’clock. Between jobs at that moment, I used to get my kicks asking prospective clients to meet me as late as humanly possible. They weren’t going to hire me anyway. I didn’t feel it particularly necessary to adjust my sleep schedule.
